Anyone going to miss 'FRIENDS'?

I can honestly say I've never seen it. Then I don't see 90% of most of the shows on TV or movies for that matter.

re: Anyone going to miss 'FRIENDS'?

I don't watch much tv at all, but a few years ago I became an obsessive Friends fan. It's like my guilty pleasure, I suppose. I'm really going to miss it, and this Thursday's going to be pretty emotional I guess. I'm looking forward to seeing how they wrap things up, but I'm very sad to see it go. I can't belive there's only one episode left!!

I've seen FRIENDS a bunch of times, and there were some funny episodes, and all the FRIENDS people are funny, but I just don't watch the show. I catch re-runs at 11:00 on the WB occasionally, but besides that...

I did promise my friends that I would wear black on Thursday...

I gave up on this show after Season 2 or 3, but so many of my friends are already in mourning.

I'll miss it. It became a Thursday night staple my freshman year in college, so I've been following it on and off since '96. It's good that it's ending, though. Some of it have been going downhill.

I am SO hoping Big goes to Paris and brings Rachel back to New York City, where she truly belongs! Because really, as great as Misha is, Rachel's heart really belongs to Big. It's such an ingenious plot line, I don't know how those writers ever thought it up in between tawdry sex talk about the women on the show!

re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Anyone going to miss 'FRIENDS'?

I watched it the first couple of seasons then got bored. It gets old very quickly when you are watching people in their 40's playing hip, young single New Yorkers who live like Bohemians and take no responsinility in their lives. It's also a bit far fetched that a maasage therapist, a struggling actor and a chef all have large beautiful apartmenst in the village and live in a New York City where minorities don't exist, crime doesn't occur and the streets look like they are sanitized daily to add to the allure of the quaint little townhouses.

I also got tired of these peopel jumping fromone realtionship to another while still basically staying withing their own circle of six friends...very incestuous. I think over the years the only combo of these people that hasn't slept together is Ross and Monica, the siblings...and I have my suspicions about that too.

Hahaha Very true Namo. re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Anyone going to miss 'FRIENDS'?

This show is majorly predictable.
Monica and Chandler will become parents. Then (since they've showed previews), we already know that Ross goes after Rachel. He will meet her at the gate right before she boards the plane, tell her he loves her and wants to be with her. The doors to the plane will close, the plane will leave, and Rachel will have never gotten on.

orion, wasn't there an episode when Ross and Chandler were reminiscing about their college days, and Ross realized he had made out with Monica?

There may have been. Not being an avid fan of the show and not having watched it in many years, I could say. Maybe one of the Friendsies would know.

re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Anyone going to miss 'FRIENDS'?

I was never a FRIENDS watcher. I suppose that when it fired up in 1994 I could have been the demographic they were shooting for, but I was too busy to watch much TV. By the time my life changed and I was home at night, I was too old to appreciate it. I also think the cast was too old at the end, like Orion said. At some point it starts getting ridiculous.

I can not wait for Chandler and Charlotte to get their little Chinese baby. I hope they have a scene of them walking Elizabeth Taylor and her little puppies across a New York street to symbolize the hope that comes with new life. Charlotte and Chandler deserve this baby. It was INGENIOUS of the writers to think that plot line up. How do they do it?

re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Anyone go

"It was no Seinfeld"????? God I hated that show - nothing but a bunch of awful whiners taking advantage of each other and the people around them - why would anyone want to tune into tv for 30 minutes to watch people mistreat other human beings? This is the same reason I dislike Will and Grace so much. Friends at least had some humanity to it - and Jennifer Anniston (sp?) grew so much in her technique over the years. Not a favorite by any means - but enjoyable for what it is/was.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

re: Anyone go

Yes, there was an episode where Monica and Ross realized that they had made out with each other. He thought she was Rachel, and she always just thought of it as the mysterious stranger who gave her her first kiss at a College party.

"why would anyone want to tune into tv for 30 minutes to watch people mistreat other human beings?"
Well, lol, at least we know they all went to jail in the end for all of those things.

I would talk about Frasier, but honestly, I don't even know what's going on with that show anymore. I think I may have watched two episodes in the past two seasons.

re: re: Anyone go

Frasier was a very well written show but, from the few episodes I ahve seen this season, it looks like it's finale is heading down the same familiar and predicatble road that Freinds is on.

Weddings, baby's, the flirting on again off again couple finally getting together....what ever happened to the genius of Bob Newhart waking up next to Emily and telling her about the deram he ahd of being a vermont Inn Keeper? Or Hawkeye finally loosing his mind and going over the edge? Where is the long road to Tiporary?

re: re: re: re: re: Anyone go

I never, ever got into this show, even when all my friends (even anti-"Friends" friends) were extolling it's virtues (it was sort of like "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" there for a while). Good writing, good cast (except for Matt LeBlanc, who makes my skin crawl)...but I am sooooooo sick of the Friends-is-ending-thus-the-world-is-ending attitude. Gimme "Frasier" or "Arrested Development" or even "The Bernie Mac Show".
However, with the reality-takeover of TV I guess it is a shame another narrative show bites the dust.

I always thought he was chunky when he was off the stuff. Then when he went ON, it sped up and he had all of the heroin weight loss.
