I was watching last night's episode (the one where the psychos were killing all women with the same name as the wife, who is in witness protection), and I didn't get to see the last minute! The scene ended where psycho-sheriff was talking with psycho-nanny. What did he say to her? I missed the whole cliffhanger.
I love this show and am infuriated by it at the same time. I want to see almost every character shot in the head multiple times and dismembered for being so horrible. And Marin Ireland really needs to start playing "non terrorist" roles.
Jordan, I just read this in AfterElton.com's recap of last night episode:
"What do you folks think? They're making a big deal out of the fact that there are only six eps left - and though the show has been re-upped for another season, creator Kevin Williamson is saying that this storyline will resolve in the finale and is teasing that next year could be something totally different. Is this American Horror Story bandwagoning, or might the anthology concept work here as well?" "The Following" Recap: Love Means Never Having to Say "You're Crazy"
That is the way they should do it. Wrap up this story line and go in a whole other direction next season. I do wish this was on Showtime/HBO instead of network TV.
I don't think there has been one slow or filler episode yet.
"I hope your Fanny is bigger than my Peter."
Mary Martin to Ezio Pinza opening night of Fanny.
And I F*CKing love it. Though my heart belongs to the cutie FBI agent who took part in that totally F*CKed up cray-cray fight club. I'll nurse him back to health.
I'm loving this show and find it far more creepy than American Horror Story. I've started to follow it up as a double-feature with an episode of the campy series, Cult.
"Well, hey! These things just snap right off!"
"What can you expect from a bunch of seitan worshippers?" - Reginald Tresilian
I'll give it a chance. They're marketing it in a similar way to the Following as sorta a series of mini-series. It's on NBC, so they need whatever help they can get, but... David Slade directed the pilot (he's done films like Hard Candy and, ummm, one of the Twilights...), and it'll be interesting seeing Bryan Fuller be showrunner for a show which, I would imagine, can't trive on the whimsy that his shows like Pushing Daisies did (NBC probably even only showed the pilot for his Munsters reboot to keep him with the network.)
The Following is so addictive! I keep thinking the show is ridiculous as can be, but I can't stop watching. Is it just me, or does Emma (I think that's her name) look like she could be Ginnifer Goodwin's (Snow White on Once Upon a Time) sister?
Emma does look like Ginnifer Goodwin. And I totally agree with Jordan, I've got a love-hate relationship with this show. Or maybe I should call it an embarrassed-to-be-watching-it relationship?
No, I don't hate it at all. It just makes me ANGRY. Like, want to punch my fist through the TV set angry because I just hate these characters SO much (which is the point, I guess).
I bailed after episode 5. Just didn't like or care for a single person in it, other than Jimmy Olsen's brother. The worst thing about it, for me, is that I simply could not believe that so many people would be followers to someone with the charisma of a bowl of oatmeal. I really wanted to love it.
