Posted: 11/23/08 at 9:47amOh my. I could not disagree more. I found the show (depsite it's critical raves) to be annoying, ridiculous, assinine.... the only thing I enjoyed was Liza's over the top performance.

Congratulations on discovering AD - you may never quote another TV show again! Is it the best show ever? Probably not (I'd argue the best ever should be very well written AND popular - such as a Seinfeld or an I Love Lucy), but it is certainly the best show most people never heard of.
Hopefully, the rest of America will see the ... something of their ways (wisdom?) when the movie (again, hopefully) comes out!
And I just realized that that line is from season 3 - sorry for ruining it for you.

If we put sitcoms in a different category (so we don't get into a discussion of the superiority of classic shows like Mary Tyler Moore) than single camera comedies, then I think we can easily make a good argument for Arrested Development being the best. The writing was sharp and intelligent, the episodes tightly structured, and the vision was singular.
