Nothing. I lead sad life. My interests are very limited.
Well, unless you count my obsession with the Spice Girls. But I was 8, and that was during a very misled time in my life...
I was waiting for dotmarie to add after the ... "So here's the story from A to Z, you wanna get with me, you better listen carefully!" Dotmarie, we won't judge you as long as you didn't also have an obssession with Hanson.

I used to be ALL about NSync and Backstreet Boys....
Hey! I was young and gay and some of them (justin, Lance, Nick.. and KINDA JC) were HAWT!

Have you seen how they looked now? Rawr...easier on the eyes. Except the youngest one, I think. He still looks ugly. :P
b-way girl, I did not bash heavy metal. If that's your thing, I'm fine with that. All my friends don't listen to CRs and I don't try to change them. I have my tastes and I respect everyone elses. Sorry if I offended you the first time, that wasn't my intention.

I guess I should have added that I do like some classical. For example, I haven't heard a version of "Canon" that I didn't like. I also like some soundtracks--"LadyHawke", "Conan" to name a few. Oldies like Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and since my Dad was a C&W singer, I do like some county.
I have an open mind as far as tastes go. I'll try it. I might hate it but I will give it a fair shake.

I listen to way too much music - Feeder, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Madness, Blur, Coldplay, Oasis, The Strokes, Radiohead, R.E.M., Emimem, Travis, Stereophonics, Supergrass, Jamie Cullum, Badly Drawn Boy. I like lots :)
The Dixie Chicks are on in my car. I roll down my windows, blare it, even in rain and snow, so no one mistakes me for Dick Cheney.
Carmina Burana, full volume with the windows open, never fails to make a statement. Just *what* statement, I'm not sure....
I listen to pop & punk music... most of the time I'm listening to showtunes though =-)
Alanis Morisette. I love her music. I think she is so incredibly talented.
Billy Joel is also really good.
broadwayguy, I was totally in the NSYNC boat with you. Before we moved, I basically had NSYNC wallpaper. Does anyone remember when NSYNC and Britney did that whole thing with McDonalds? I had the fry boxes on my wall. WHY?!
I might add I listen to Frank Sinatra and Billy Joel often as well. How could I forget them?
Here's a very dark and dirty secret I am about to share with you all: I am damn near obsessed with Donny Osmond and his brothers. We just watched Joseph in my theatre class and that man sets my loins afire!

Umm... I listen to everything. Soca, Rap, R&B, Rock, Classical, Disco, Pop.... my cd collection runs the gamut. Though my current favorite CD is the new Outkast! :)
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
Mynameinlights: Didn't Mr. Osmond do a solo album last year of rock standards that was actually damned good? I listened to it at a store on the headset, since we're into full disclosure here. But I am no music snob, and without apologizing admit that I listen to Russell Watson, aka "The Voice," that Brit who sings in Italian and looks like Clay Aiken on steroids (sort of).

Yes, Papa, that be the one. Why? You love it? Hate it?
And as far as the Osmonds go--I was in love with Alan (the oldest performing Osmond) when he was 23 and I was in my early teens--Donny's age. Ahh, I always did/do have a thing for "older" men.

oh, d, i hate it. i went back and watched ladyhawke years after seeing it and thought the movie stood up well, but the soundtrack was jarring and seemed way outta place...kinda like if 50 cent were to re-do the sound track for the chariots of fire.

Sorry to disagree with you, Papa but I happen to like that soundtrack very much.
I think the mix of modern/Medieval works very well. Especially the End Title when it gets down to a certain part. I can close my eyes and use it as the soundtrack to many, many a daydream.
As far as the movie goes, I loved Goliath/Othello (his real name). I was very sorry to learn that he had died. I don't know the name of the white horse but he was outstanding as well. Lord, those long lovely manes. I could brush them for hours. I do so miss having a horse.
I also really liked Rutger Hauer. I don't care for blond men but he works for me. It's a voice thing again.
Since I happen to have the soundtrack right here on my desk, I think I'll pop it in and give it another listen.

My love for opera is equal to my love for show music. My favorite composers are Mozart, Puccini and Verdi. I guess my favorite opera recording is the Victoria de los Angeles/Jussi Boerling version of LA BOHEME (my all-time favorite opera) and a close second is the Sam Ramey/Kiri Te Kanawa recording of LE NOZZE DE FIGARO. Te Kanawa's buttery tones make her a marvelous Countess. Sigh!

I have an ecclectic taste in music. I listen to some Rap, R&B, and I love music from the 70's and 80's. I admit, and I may be stoned (the verb--not the adj.)for this one but...I love Madonna. I just freaking love her music from the 80's. I'm not that big on her new music, but her old stuff just tickles me pink.

I always thought I should have been born 8-10 years earlier, as I just love hard rock, but not contemporary kinds. I never listen to the radio anymore; I only know a couple current songs b/c of where I work. Sometimes a current singer/group will pop into my radar and I'll enjoy them.
Basically, I'm all about Aerosmith, Weezer, Common Rotation, Billy Joel, Dave Matthews Band, The Doors, Rufus Wainwright, Janis Joplin, and Nirvana. I tend not to listen to female singers a great deal, but I like Liz Phair, Natalie Imbruglia, Sixpence, Hole, and Garbage. I adore 80s music and love so many oldies as well.
ok I'm going to elaborate on some of these, Billy Joel and Sinatra are both great. I also love listening to good ole Satchmo. Haha I also love Simon and Garfunkle and yes I have a few Michael Jackson cds because he really did make some great music even if he has become a freak of nature. I've got some Aretha, some Dean Martin, and nat King Cole. Its not Christmas until I hear him sing the Christmas song.
