Unless you're Idina. Then you can say f**k at an audition and still get the lead role of Elphaba.
be prepared. i know it seems like a no-brainer, but don't let other things distract from preparing to give a good audition.

for me as a director, the biggest thing i look for is just honesty and commitment to choices. it's not just idina in wicked, i've cast people who made mistakes at their auditions. being prepared is usually good. but the more willing you are to explore the piece, the more lee-way you have. but really, the main thing is to just be in the moment.

When you sing, don't just show your voice, but have a POV. In other words have a backstory in your head of why you are singing this particular song.

If your listening/watching other people audition, dont let them intimidate you, it will only make you nervous. Take a deep breath and take your time, don't rush yourself.
And try not to rock back and forth when you're singing or doing a monolouge. I've seen way too many people do it. It's looks terrible and is really distracting from your performance.
