I will be very interested in seeing the documentary. The one thing that worries me to some extent is that, despite Britain's historical role in administering what was then called Palestine, British sources sometimes seem to forget that Britain, at one point favored a Jewish homeland in an area that included the current state of Israel. This amnesia could result in a documentary that is heavily skewed towards the Palestinians.
To be fair to the British, I've noticed that American news sources can become equally forgetful that the United Nations voted to establish the state of Israel. I suspect that there are numerous individuals in North America and Europe that believe that Jews moved into what was then a country run by Palestinians, took it over, and created Israel. I shouldn't pay any attention to comments on most news blogs, but I'll always remember the woman who said that the UN's creating Israel was similar to deciding that the US screwed the native Americans, and giving them Switzerland in return.
In any event, I'll watch the documentary with an open mind. The ancient history portion will hopefully be apolitical.
Audrey, the Phantom Phanatic, who nonetheless would rather be Jean Valjean, who knew how to make lemonade out of lemons.
