Uh oh... I see the beginning of a rumour... not that I would EVER start a rumour like that...

edit: I'm talking about the post before this one...

It did that because of hot-linking.

FOR THE CATAGORY OF 'BEST AVATAR' - Marquise has withdrawn his nomination. IF - AND ONLY IF - you have already voted for him will you be allowed to change your vote.

Otherwise, you may vote for the remaining nominees.

If you do not change your vote, the votes will not count for nor against any other nominee.

re: BROADWAYWORLD MEMBER AWARDS: And The Nominees Are...

Personaly, I find these so-called "Awards" about as informative and justified as the so-called "real" Answers in Show Business--i.e., the Oscars and Tonys.

They are all political; based on popularity; and prove absolutely NOTHING.

As Jose' posted, I liken them to Junior High School Popularity Contests.

While I can't stop Threads like this from being started, I can certanly give them ALL the respect and attention they deserve.

Which, in my opinion, is ABSOLUTELY NONE.

Now why don't you nominate me for something like "Board's biggest a$$hole" and see what a dramatic change it will have on my life and my participation on this Message Board.

Mary_Ethel it sounds to me something huge crawled up your @ss and bit it hard. Let these kids have their fun. Is it really that serious that you felt the need to come over to this thread and post what you just did.
If it really didn't matter to you you wouldn't have felt the need to do so.
This obviously is bothering you and I think it goes much deeper than just a thread on an internet message board.
Get a grip, you're coming off as a bitter, jealous queen.

re: BROADWAYWORLD MEMBER AWARDS: And The Nominees Are...

Look, I've never participated in these things, and I'm honestly shocked I was nominated for anything, because I definitely haven't shown up in the "popularity contest" threads before.

But if you're going to ignore it, ignore it- posting a diatribe about it is only going to make you look like you feel left out and you're bitter. Pettiness doesn't suit you.

Okay, going back to my corner now.

re: BROADWAYWORLD MEMBER AWARDS: And The Nominees Are...

Unfortunately, I respectfuly disagree.

All I did was posting my thoughts--which is what a Message Board is all about. I believe my post was within the posting guidelines set forth by Rob.

It has also been stated that my post would generate a certain type of reaction. In my opinion, that is an assumption--and we all know how dangerous assumptions can be.

The perceptions of others were also mentioned. Well, perceptions are just that--the IMPRESSIONS OF OTHERS. I have no control over the perceptions of others--and particularly would not want that responsibility.

And last, Beav, I duly note your opinion re: my ability to "kill a thread"--and I thank you for that compliment. re: BROADWAYWORLD MEMBER AWARDS: And The Nominees Are...

re: BROADWAYWORLD MEMBER AWARDS: And The Nominees Are...

At no point did I say you were breaking any rules, Mary_Ethel.

This message board isn't a personal diary; it's a communication system, and communication is half reception. Of course you don't have total control over the perceptions of others, but when you write you make an impression, and that is a measure of control. Otherwise, why bother correcting one's spelling or trying to phrase things clearly? You can't control other people's perceptions; so you might as well just type out stream-of-conciousness missives and hope for the best.

Mary_Ethel,

And I truly respect your opinion. It goes back to what I said - it's all in good fun. Not having fun? Don't participate. Take offense? Ignore it, it's not meant to be offensive.

And the road to Hell is paved with the BEST of Intentions, Capn...

As I posted earlier, I do NOT HAVE to ignore ANYTHING I think is improper--I have the right to post ANYTHING I want (Again, so long as I am using the Guidelines set forth by Rob and the other Moerators).

...sorry If I "flew off the handle", Plum...

I just care for CapnHook DICTATING to me that I should "ignore something" if I don't care for it.

If someone made a cruel and a vicious Joke about a Member of his family--would he/she just "ignore it"?

I don't believe ANYONE has the right to tell anyone else how to handle a situation that they find offensive--that is a very PERSOAL DECISION.
