Hello. My name is Flowery, and I am a Bee-Dub-Dub-aholic.
I am on the boards far more than I would like to admit.
Remind me to start cutting back my hours online.
I'm starting a support group.
The first step to recovery is admitting the problem, right?
Who wants to join BWWA with me?
Hello, my name is on1ystar, and I'm a BWW-aholic.
The board is my second family. In fact, it might as well be my first family, because I have more in common with you people here than with my own family, and I have more contact with you nutcases than I do with my own parents!
*gives blank stare, sits down*
I think the fact that I posted this thread after realizing the depths of my patheticness instead of getting offline speaks volumes about the extent of my addiction.
Thank you.
*applause for Flowery*
Now that you've come to terms with your problem, we can work on solving it.
Anyone else? Come on now, there must be SOMEBODY out there, harbouring their addiction...
Hello, My name is Pol and I am BWW addicted too.
luckyly, today I leave for 4 days to work 100 km. away from the internet. in a near to paradise beach...
I will miss you, people!!!!
"Hello, my name is mominator, (Pause, "hello mominator")
I too come to this board way too much. But as on1ystar said'this board is like a second family" It is so nice to be able to talk about what is going on in the theater and all that goes with it.
So I am here to help and may be get some help of my own.
Can we have coffee now?"
Hello, my name is...well my BWW name is broadwaystar2b and I am also a BWW-addict. Everyday since I have joined, I can't stop ODing on the message boards (both main and off-topic)and I realize this might just be because of my obsessive compulsiveness, but living so far from New York, this is the only way I can find out what the hell is going on up there. BWW is also one of the only places (cyberspace or otherwise) where I feel this passion I have for Broadway is not only accepted, but embraced. I realize that I have a problem, but it's nice to know that I'm not a freak for loving theatre and that they're others like me out there. Thank you.
Hello, my name is GovernorSlaton, and goddamnit, I'm ADDICTED TO AMERICA!!!
Well, actually, not really...
I'm addicted to Sweeney Todd and BWW. I am on the message boards way too much, and I'm still not even close to becoming a legend. Le sigh.
Hello, my name is Baby, and I, too, am a BWW addict.
And I second whoever it was the was talking about families. I DO have more in common with you people than with my real family or my friends for that matter. I like you guys better, too. None of YOU ever call me up and say "Get a job!!" or "Drive us somewhere!!"...none of YOU wake me up at 10 on a perfectly calm summer morning to tell me "DO YOUR LAUNDRY"...agh.
So yes, I have become WAY too obsessed. It started with the Radio, and progressed to the daily columns, and then went into the Main Board, and then it got to the point where I am on the Off Topic board ALL day...
Oy.

My name is Beacon1 and I am a BWW addict.
It started off so innocently...I grew up with a mother that played Showtunes on the piano, sang them around the house. My parents bought cast albums...I enjoyed local theater...
Then I saw Patrick Wilson in "Angels in America" and a friend recommended this site to find out more about his career. It seemed harmless enough. The threads about Patrick led to other threads on other topics...then the radio...then the Off-Topic list.
Now I have a burning need to see more pictures of Marc Shaiman's dog...I worry about the activities of one RightSaidRick...
I check the reviews...I read the playbill links...I save my pennies for a trip to the Big Apple. I bowed out of three invitations in order to watch the Tonys. I have been purchasing cast recording CDs that are suggested by posters and playing them at work.
I need to sit down...

My name is LuvtheEmcee (gee, that sounds odd) and I have a problem. I am a Broadwayworld addict.
It all began when I was six, and I saw my first Broadway show. I saw lots of stuff when I was a kid, but became a theater junkie a few years ago after seeing the revival of "Oklahoma!" Then I couldn't get enough and my entire existence went down the drain.
I now spend entirely too much time with all of you - MUCH more time than I should be spending here - but I must admit that it's incredibly fun... and it fuels my other, more serious addictions, such as that corresponding with the disease from which Ruffian and I seem to be suffering, called Esparzaitis.
Thank you.

*after hovering around the oreos for the first half an hour*

Hello everybody! My name is June, what's yours?
Hello my name is bwayaddict. As you can see by my name I already knew I was addicted to Broadway shows and my friends kept telling me that I needed to join a 12 step group for broadway aholics so I am so excited to have found one to join! I first became addicted 6 years ago on my first trip to New York taking my daughter to NYU and saw my first show Titanic. Since then I can't get enough and work a second job just to support my New York addiction. I only discovered BWW one month ago and I am so grateful to know there are other people out there as addicted to broadway as I am and now I do not feel alone in my obsession. Thank you for allowing me to share.
Well it seems that this thread is helping out. I'll go refill the oreos.
Hello, my name is Christine. Oh wait lol very few people here know me by my real name. Okay, my name is Theaterbaby and I am a Broadway World A-holic.
Though over the past few weeks I have gotten better (cutting back on reading and posting every free second I had), I'll admit that I do need a fix every now and then.
I became addicted to Broadway my senior year in Highschool and it has now been 4 years. And I have been addicted to BWW since it started last year. I need help, but I don't know that I really want help because this addiction is safer than most.
"Hi Christine, I mean TheaterBaby". You are on your way to recovery. You made that all important first step, you admitted that you have a problem. Have some coffee and some oreos.

I am a new member and seem to spend a lot of time here. The GOOD thing about being a BWW-aholic is it takes time away from my Crystal Meth addiction*
*just a joke-plz don't get all PC on me
Is it better to be an "open" poster or an anonymous BWW'er?
I think it depends on age personally. The underage posters should probably stay anomnymous..... but thats another thread.
Hi I'm Joey and I am a broadwayworldaholic. I am ok some times, but then I go on a binge. Because of this site, I know more about what is going on in the theatre(Broadway) scene than most theatre majors I know, even the ones consumed by having to know everything broadway. I also think that many of the tips given on the board have made me a better actor. Not saying I'm wonderful, just that I'm better. I try to pass on my own pearls of wisdom. I also enjoy learning about the history of Broadway on here. It doesn't happen as often as I would like, but beggars can't be choosers. I too was first lured in by the radio. I was talking about this with my director how I was always sad there was no Broadway Radio station. She also has wanted to have a channel that just shows videos of all the archived musicals at Lincoln Center. I COULD GO FOR THAT!!!!
hello my name is drama queen and I ama BWW-aholic, when im not posting, im reading (wow-can you say obvious-owell) I am addicted, when i see an open envelope, i cannot help but to open it-
