Before I post the scores, I just wanted to make some general comments. First, my scores don't necessarily just reflect the quality of this week's performances, but also takes into consideration how well I think a contestant will be for future themes. It also takes into consideration people who have been clear frontrunners in previous weeks, and people who are deserving of votes that don't materialize, in my opinion.

I have to admit that overall, I'm pretty disappointed this week. I thought the singing was better last week than this week, but there were a few exceptions - I thought Spidey, jrb_actor and WesternSky was really quite good.

Things to work on next week:
a) Putting more emotion into your performances instead of just singing the words.
b) Balancing mic/accompaniment volume so you don't overwhelm or get drowned out.
c) Choosing a song that suits you and also is a contrast to your previous submissions.

I was thinking "Shadowboxer" or "Criminal" by Fiona Apple for next week.

Or maybe "Funny Honey" from Chicago for more of a torch song feel. But I REALLY wanna do "Shadowboxer."

"Don't Speak" is a good anti-love song. Or maybe "Ex-Girlfriend"? Fiona Apple also has a great anti-relationship song (as if that's not redundant seeing as I'm referring to Fiona Apple) called "Limp".

And for guys, is anyone familiar with that song that goes, "Give me my money back, give me my money back, you bitch!"?

I don't know any Fiona Apple, and I try to stick to stuff I know so I can really perfect it instead of having to learn a completely new song.

You Oughta Know is a possibility.. ugh, I wish I didn't live in a dorm! It would be so much better if I didn't have ears on either side of me.
