I am trying to find a song that is different than the Maroon 5 song that I did and is not so "poppish" and fits in my vocal range but I am coming up empty. I just checked out Ricky Skaggs, Roger Miller, and Hank Williams from the library so when I get to my car I will listen to those and see. I just . . . *sigh*.

Thanks...but could you please clarify what you mean a little. Although I don't have too much worry because my song so far is VERY country-ish sounding with my voice. In fact, I suspect the judges will critisize me for it, even though they asked for it.
And also can you post a list of songs people have already claimed so I don't toil to hard on a song that I can't use.

Ok...I think I might have something. I burned the track on a CD and played it over my DVD player with the tv volume cranked up all the way and my face and microphone right next to the speaker.

I wasn't singling you out about the whole pop thing, just filling you in. Several people were looking to do pop renditions of country songs and the only way to ensure we stick to country as a genre is to impose a manditory point deduction if someone strays from it. Just merely an FYI..
