BWW love/dating advice line

ok, CJR gave me the idea, but it seems as though many of us are having love/dating/boy/girl issues, so i thought i'd make a thread where we can all post our issues and help each other out. my issue: i miss my "teddy bear" (i.e. boyfriend who's friends are a pain in my a**).

re: BWW love/dating advice line

i'm single and haven't had a boyfriend in two years. Maybe i'll start the miserably depressed advice line.

Midtown, I'll post on that thread if you start it. We're in the same boat.

Jarico and I will be more than happy to provide free hugs to all those in need.

I'll join MattG and midtown, as well. I've coined a new phrase for this, "The other side of bitter."

MisterMatt and his boyfriend are offering hugs? Well, that just makes everything Hunky Dory. I feel much better about being single when i'm being hugged by a cute happy couple. Now,where's that quaalude and bottle of Stoli i hid in my office...

re: BWW love/dating advice line

SHEESH! I'm just trying to be nice. Before you revel in self-pity, it was a loooooooooooooong time before I ended up in this relationship with many horrific experiences along the way. You want to know my secret? I stopped looking. Ever looked for something you misplaced so hard, you could never find it? Then as soon as you stop trying, it's right in front of you. It was like that. I quit reading personal ads and going to the bars, clubs, chat rooms, websites, and any other places to try and find something (anything) that could provide me with even the smallest bit of intimacy or companionship. I stopped going on dates with guys I didn't really like just for the sake of going on a date. I stopped settling for one-sided relationships or f-buddies just to experience something that simulated partnership. I didn't resign myself to loneliness, but I did prioritize my life so that I could focus and excel at the things I could control so that I could be the best guy I could be when the best guy for me should come along. It worked. I honestly believe it was one of the major reasons Jarico and I are together. We had already known each other for a couple of years, but it wasn't until I had more solidly grounded myself that we started bonding.

*jealous*

Well, that's good. I'm happy for you and yours, Mister Matt.

I have a BF. but he thinks I have a self-confidence problem, which is true. He thinks I should be confident enough to realize "what a sweet, sexy hilarious person I am. But yeah....i just have a hard time believing that.

My rant is over. Thank you for your time.

re: BWW love/dating advice line

Yes, I like to think so, too. Some of my friends claim we're going to get married, and we just look at each other and laugh. We're on the same page. But considering I'm nowhere near legal, we're just having fun.

re: BWW love/dating advice line

most of you know my wonderful past tragic "adventure" with love. After I got over the shock of that situation, I did move on to date another girl. That lasted about 16 months, and ended 14 months ago. I haven't had any means of intimacy or companionship since. I'm just a lonely little singer boy.

re: BWW love/dating advice line

I have no problem wallowing in self-pity. Think of this folks.

I haven't gotten any action - not even "first base", if we're going to be high schoolish about this - since November 19, 2002, when my boyfriend dumped me post-coitus on our anniversary, and then started secretly dating my best friend the week after.

If that ain't the saddest story.....

Glad you feel better. Y'know what it is? I think I'm like Miranda on SatC when she said, "I'm one of those women who wins a guy over with my personality and then spends the rest of the time trying to convince him I'm sexy." ::sigh::

re: BWW love/dating advice line

I'm too smart and different for any guys to like me. I have my opinions and it scares them off. They also think my Broadway obsession is weird. I don't really care, because I'm not going to change for anyone.
I have my books and my poetry to protect me...

re: BWW love/dating advice line

thanks, tiff.

BTW, that's an orca penis.

AND I LIKE BROADWAY SHOWS!

The last woman I slept with broke up with me because I was too affectionate..... alrighty then.

re: BWW love/dating advice line

I don't think your obsession is weird, but I will have seen four NY Musical Festival shows this week. My friends say it's very scary-maybe we ARE weird.
