Oh, who cares? A little birdie told me that Diane Sawyer used to be Tricky Dick's mistress.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

Does anyone give a s**t? I love how she's making this into a secret on par with the identity of Deep Throat.

"Oh, who cares?"
"Does anyone give a s**t?"
Give the woman a break. When you're 105 and still trying to remain relevant, you'll want someone making a big deal out of your confessions.

Wasn't U.S. Sen. Edward Brooke a "slut" too.

I think its fabulous.
Fabulous that she got away with it in the spotlight of the two gossipiest cities in the US of A. (Okay, three. LA is in there.)
It also shows the high regard that both she and he are held since no one told.
You really want to keep a secret in the world? Keep your mouth shut.

So.. if it only happened in Barbara's "mind" she is still a "slut"?

"So.. if it only happened in Barbara's "mind" she is still a "slut"?"
If she kept quiet about it, no she isn't because it's just a fantasy. When she talks about it and it becomes public, then yes.

So now you can be called a slut because you talk about a "fantasy?"
Wow!
I remember a time when you were called a slut because of what you actually DID... or when cowardly women-haters just wanted to demean powerful successful women.
I guess Walt Disney can now be called the Grand Dragon of the KKK since he made a public "fantasy" film about the happy slavery in the old south...

Maybe your definition of slut is off.
Definition 2 applies to the situation.
"an immoral or dissolute woman"

I can't stand Barbara Walters. What was the point of admitting this? Does she need to feel vital and important THAT badly? And the guy still has a family. Doubt she gives a crap about how this revelation makes them feel.

1. a dirty, slovenly woman.
2. an immoral or dissolute woman; prostitute.
You think Walters is lacking restraint; especially : marked by indulgence in things (as drink or promiscuous sex) deemed vices???
Because she expressed a FANTASY!!!
WOW!!!
*rubs eyes in disbelief*

She's immoral for taking another woman's husband--whether in fantasy or real life.

Wait.. I thought you had to have "proof" before you labeled U.S. Sen. Edward Brooke a slut?
But didn't hold the same standard to Walters... who is , by your own logic.. is just having a "fantasy".
WOW! WOW! WOW!
So if you have publicly expressed a "fantasy" you are now held to the same contempt as if you actually did it?
I can MAYBE understand that for some crimes.. but wanting another women's husband???
If it happened in her mind.. how can she "take" him?
By that logic..I've had affairs with at least 3 women today.
Better stitch a scarlet "A" to my chest.

OK, JUST HOLD IT RIGHT THERE, BLONDIE! That was a totally biased statement.
I'm pretty sure cowardly women-haters demean all women.
And I don't think Barbara is a slut. I think she was a slut. And before you can say it, I will. It takes one to know one.
