bdwaygirl - The first (and superior) thread got deleted.
PCB - If I wasn't so comfortable on my couch, you'd get a foot up the ass.
Here's the 2nd Cheerleader Thread
Kringas,

I was going to make a crack back to you, PCB, but I've got harris's song here, and I don't think he'd like me to much it up with sexual innuendo.
If you squint enough, you can sing this to "Climb Ev'ry Mountain"
Harris saw Brokeback Mountain
It didn't change his life
He's no longer a cow fan
He only wants a wife
Harris saw Brokeback Mountain
He cringed at the screen
He didn't like the sodomy
Or the lady called Lureen
A film that will need
All the love of the gays
Was dealt another blow when
Harris said, "An egg, it lays"
Harris saw Brokeback Mountain
Afterwards, he pissed a stream
He wanted so to like it
But he's lost his dream
should be home by this time tommrow Krin
BROKEBACK, BROKEBACK, All the way!
Gotta Love it, Straight or Gay!
Them Gay Cowboys, they beat RENT,
‘specially when they Pitch a Tent!
CAPOTE may be gay, as well,
But Jake and Heath are hot as hell!
Kong is King, if that’s your scene,
But nothing beats a Cowboy Queen.
On Oscar night, they will Reign,
So hop aboard the BROKEBACK train!
Spread the News, Spread the Cheer,
Spread your Legs, its BROKEBACK’s Year!!!
GO BROKEBACK!!!
Did Harris post a review somewhere? All these threads have got me wanting to see it, but it's not playing around me anywhere that I can find.

Impressive, Luscious.
girl - rereading it, I don't know if harris did or didn't see it. I assumed he saw it and didn't like it, because he told me to get my song ready. perhaps he was telling me to get prepared. if he hasn't seen it yet, but winds up liking it when does, I'll change it. otherwise, I'll just leave it as is.
harris really lost me with his "should be home by this time tommrow Krin." I'm not really sure who or what should be home by this time tommrow, but I like that he's calling me Krin and I like that he keeps me guessing with his cryptic posts.
lol love the song kringas but i havent seen it yet i'll be home by this time tommrow after seeing it. an just for a note i will always be a cow fan, nothin will change that.
bd- i will post a review when i come home it's sad they have no cows in the theater sign outside where it is showing

Well, like I said harris, if you wind up loving the film, I'll rewrite them to reflect that. I hope you love it. I hope it changes your life!

Which cows?
Kringas, the cows are his friends/neighbors. He loves them. Don't eat beef, o.k.?

"Did you write the story? I doubt it. I'm sure she knows exactly what her intentions were, and what she wanted her writing to mean, be, and say with something like this."
Like any other human, a writer is not always entirely aware of his/her motivations. And no author, no matter how self-aware, is entirely conscious of every aspect of their output. I stand by my statement.

Enchanted - I would probably say that the writer might be aware of their own motivations, but they certainly can't be in control of the impression on the observer. Art, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. All the artist can do is create according to the truth that they perceive - which may very well have been what Annie did with the intention of addressing homophobia - but the myriad interpretations after the fact could just as well have lain outside her consciousness. I think your interpretation is entirely credible and arguable, but doesn't necesarily mean that the author didn't intend to focus elsewhere.
Not entirely of the *consequence* and probably underlying meanings that lead to interpretation OF their work.
DG said it better.
And I stand by that. So now we can both behave like walls.
ok kringas i'm back i saw it

Well, don't keep us waiting. Did you love it? Did it change your life?
Holding my breath...
