How thrillingly original.

Ya know...can't someone finally call it:

I'm glad that the most important gay film in a long time is a big joke to some of you.

Sorry, Bobby. As I gay man myself, I shouldn't play into the jokes.

Wait. Are you telling me there's no "ripping the condom package open" scene? How irresponsible. I certainly won't be seeing this movie now.

I just think if people spent as much time as they did making jokes about the movie or discussing the sex scenes, as they did promoting the message of the film and getting people to go see it, we'd all be a stronger community.

But since most gay men (not all, but a lot) nowadays only care about the gym, pnp, and mojitos, I guess it's easier to just ignore the jokes.

If you're talking to me, the answer is almost always yes. Regardless of the question, in fact. re: Bareback Mountain

Actually, the movie still has yet to open in the backwoods of southern New Jersey. Next weekend, so I'm told.

It's okay. They used the rhythm method.

I should treat a movie I thought to be 'eh' like a sacred cow?

Yes you should. You need to look at the wider sociopolitical picture. You didn't enjoy the movie, fine. But you shouldn't dismiss it.

I have a sense of humor.

Do what you want, but I think using unprotected sex as a joke for an important film about gay issues is irresponsible. But that's just me.

See...but that's not what you said...your issue was about the movie. As a matter of fact, I agree about the 'bareback' thing. Not only is it somewhat distasteful because is turns unsafe sex-practices into a joke (don't really give a crap about the movie), it's also PAINFULLY obvious. Sure, we all called it that when we FIRST heard about it, but COME ON. It's been a while. If one is going to be distasteful, be clever!

Ooh. I thought of a good one. Let's all start calling him Jake GAY-llenhaal. I'll bet no one's thought of that one.

One of the two *homosexual* gentlemen in front of me asked for a ticket to 'Bareback Mountain.' He was genuinely embarrassed, because he knew i heard. It happens.
I was going to see Mame at Chelsea Classics anyway! Much gayer than Brokeback.

The title of the film was ripe for this parody from Day #1.

It's neither shocking, nor original, nor clever... nor really that funny (snicker, snicker).

...but there it is, ladies and gentlemen, for the four gay people out there who haven't already thought of it.

Coming to a gay porn store near you!

And for the "straights" out there. Most of them probably don't "get" what it means anyway. A double-dose of ho-hum.

Calvin, that doesn't work really, as his surname is pronounced with a soft G.
