Jordan, you can believe what you want, doesn't really affect me.
Agreed, Addison: it was the arrogance, the I-dont-give-a-****ness, the let-them-eat-Ronzoniness that I really objected to.
FROM: Barilla Consumer Relations Response
Dear PalJoey,
At Barilla, we consider it our mission to treat our consumers and partners as our neighbors – with love and respect – and to deliver the very best products possible. We take this responsibility seriously and consider it a core part of who we are as a family-owned company.
We are working hard to learn from this experience, and appreciate you taking the time to share your comments and valuable feedback.
Sincerely,
Barilla

^^^ How to say **NOTHING** in 70 neutered words, packed with Orwellian meaningless-ness...
Is that a real response? It sounds like the same form letter one would get if they complained that they found something in their food.
I happened to watch some of a Canadian version of The View today where they discussed the issue. The women were sympathetic but very quickly it turned into all of them agreeing that we probably don't know about all of the company CEOs who have prejudice--and so we can't boycott them all. Which seemed to completely miss the point--of course that's true. But there is a huge difference about someone who publicly states a bigoted attitude about their company and one who doesn't. Morally, maybe not, but publicly it *does* make a difference.
Liza, I didn't say "Lesbians don't wear bow ties". I said I didn't know one that did. Big difference.
So, if you click on the link and scroll down you can see Guido Barilla's new video apologizing for the horrible things that he said. This is now his second apology. My question is, how can you say one thing on Monday, then apologize on Wednesday and say the total opposite? He is must be lying about one or the other? This is why I despise fake apologies. If he was gonna say such hateful things then at least stick by it.If you were too dumb to not see the consequences in all of this then that's your fault. Deal with it!

Jungle, I don't know who you consort with but I know PLENTY of lesbians who wear bow ties.
I know cops and softball players. None wear bow ties.
Lets be honest. The only people who don't look silly in bowties are clowns and bridegroom s.
Speak for yourself. I look dashing in a bow tie.
I think the farfalle in the Bertolli ad were meant to be dresses -- not bow ties. (Or do you guys already know that and were talking about something else?)
