yeah i have a huge talent show aud in july at show choir camp and i need a powerful baritone song that doesnt go above F sharp! My highest note is an F sharp and lowest is a low G! But i want something in between cause an F sharp for me is rather hard at times if pushing it! Any song suggestions

What about Ten Minutes Ago, On the Street Where You Live, If Ever I Would Leave You
And a tip: do not ever "push" for higher notes; let it come naturally. The higher you go, the less air you need. The strain that you're feeling is because off too much air being taken in. Don't think bout the notes; just do it.

Eh, darn it... I don't know how high "Santa Fe" from Newsies goes, but it's a great baritone song. I can sing it just fine and my range is not all that good. I love the song!
Welcome to the boards, nate.
Advice on "If I Can't Love Her": That song is becoming quite mainstream in baritone concert repertoire. Unless you absolutely knock it out of the ball park, steer clear of it.
"Where's the Girl" from The Scarlet Pimpernel is absolutely gorgeous.

Wow we have almost the exact same range! I go up to an F# but I can go down to almost a D. hahaha
The "I'll Cover You reprise" from Rent.
-You might also be able to sing "One Song Glory". I dont think it goes higher than an F.
"Some Enchanted Evening" from South Pacific
"Close every Door" and "Any Dream will Do" from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
"Stars" from Les Miserables
-You could also do "Who am I?" from Les Mis but you'll have to falsetto the last note but that's almost expected.
"The American Dream" and "If you want to Die in Bed" from Miss Saigon.
Jeez...those are all I can really think of right now. Our range is tough because a lot of songs are JUST a note or two too high.
American Dream goes up to at least an F# if not a G, and one song glory goes to a G or G#. The problem with close every door and who am I is that they both SIT high. I'll cover you goes very high as well. I can sing a Bb, but I wouldn't want to do it more than once in a song, so it's important to pick something that's comfortable vocally, because you should never feel like your throat is exhausted at the end of a song.
Some Enchanted evening is gorgeous, but more powerful is This Nearly Was Mine, the other Emile song in South Pacific.
-This Nearly Was Mine (South Pacific)
-If Ever I Would Leave you (Camelot)
-Where's the Girl (Scarlet Pimpernel)
-Stars (Les Mis)
-Were THine That Special Face (Kiss Me Kate)
-C'est Moi (Camelot)
-Almost Like Being in Love (Brigadoon)
-I'd Rather Be Sailing (A New Brain)
-What MOre Can I Say (Falsettos)
Hope that helps!

Empty Chairs at Empty Tables from Les Mis doesn't go higher than an E, and you can really shine on it if your tone and characterization is amazing.
Good luck, whatever you do!

Empty Chairs at Empty Tables goes up to a G...
I just looked at the sheet music, and you're right, but depending on the way the you style the song, you could still sing this if you wanted. There's only one G in the song and it's not held out for very long. It's in a sequence of three notes, F G F, and you could falsetto that sequence if you wanted to.
Ordinarily I wouldnt go to so much trouble to point something like this out, but I think this is a really nice song so there's a way for you to sing it if you want to.

well its either that one or wheres the girl! I luv wheres the girl and i think i could do it excpet the last note is high for me! It's either those two or do you know of any upbeat songs that are baritoneish?? but those two are my two top choices unles soemthing else comes up.
Sing the last note in your falsetto!
If you want to go uber fierce bass-bari then do "Lonely Room" from Oklahoma.
Get The Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology. I'm a mezzo and they are AMAZING for me. Anyway "One Song Glory" goes really freakin high, totally a SuperTenor song. Just get the book, it's a really good investment to make.
Just so ya know; "Santa Fe" from Newsies is an E flat for the high note. You can find it in the baritone/bass Musical Theatre Anthology Volume #3

One Song Glory only goes to like a G or G#. Not a "Super Tenor" song at all, seeing as true tenors go up to B, C, D, F, and F# sometimes with little or no problems.

I own the 16-Bar audition songbook for tenors, and "One Song Glory is in there" ... it can easily be sung higher and lower. Some of the notes in that book definitely do not corresponnd with the movie or stage versions.
One Song Glory as written in the score goes all the way up to a high A unfortunately. I say that cause its a bitch for me to get right too! Y'know the section that begins "Time flies, time DIEEEES"? well that is the beginning of a horrible section of Gs and Fs that culminates in the final "GLOOORY" which is the A. Again near the end on "And then no need to endure" are all written at that pitch.
I'm a high baritone and can sing it but my vocal setup ends up being so twangy that it looses its raw power. I realise this isnt very fashionable for some but I have had a total Kismet phase recently and singing Fate a lot. top note an E natural.
Santa Fe goes up to an F, only once or twice, on "Santa Fe, Are you there..." so that'd be okay, though it's not my favorite song. Someone said I'd Rather Be Sailing, which I love, and goes to I think an F# at the end but Norm Lewis falsettos it on the Cast Recording and it's really pretty.
And I second This Nearly Was Mine. Really good baritone song.
