Randy Johnson had an absolute disaster of a start, disproving any notion that John Flaherty was his lucky charm. By the 4th inning, the Yankes were down 10-2 and this looked like another miserable loss to Tampa.

But then, things started looking up. They scored 4 runs in the 5th and one in the 6th, and a comeback started to look possible. Then Tampa scored an insurance run in the 7th.

Then came the 8th. Ah, the 8th. It went something like this: single, single, RBI groundout, single, RBI single, RBI double, intentional walk, 3-run triple, 2-run homer, fly-out, single, single, 3-run homer, homer, homer, fly-out.

And that's how you score 13 runs in one inning.

Yankees win.

Actually...I think this is the second time this year the Yanks have scored 13 runs in an inning against the Devil Rays. Craziness.

I love NYC, and hope to live and/or work there someday, but I support the Red Sox overwhelmingly over the Yankees. Actually, I'm from CT, and my mom grew up in Brooklyn (my grandfather was a "New-Yauker"- with the accent). However, he rooted for the Mets, not the Yankees, which (I feel) gives me approval to root for a team other than the Yankees- the Red Sox! I support the Cleveland Indians first, and then, if they don't get into to the playoffs, I support the Red Sox. Go Red Sox! Go Boston Red Sox!

Ooooh, sorry, Liott!...Tonight's Yankees/Mets game should be mighty interesting though. Pedro-Yankees-Pedro-Yankees...geez, I don't know who to make a feeble attempt at rooting for. I can't bring myself to root for the Yankees, but part of me thinks it would be mighty sweet to see them slap Pedro around some.

They are the only team Pedro can't seem to beat on a consistent basis. And Moose is a damn good pitcher...when he's Good!Moose. Unfortunately, much like Andy Pettitte in his last couple of years in the Bronx, you never know when Bad!Moose is going to pop up.

We'll see, we'll see. I'm just glad to be away from those *^$@ Devil Rays.
