I just tried watching them today. I gave up after about 3 or 4 innings. Watching paint dry would be more fun. A lot of fans there disguised as empty seats. When will the owners get the message. You make money when you field a good team. You do not spend money and you get a bad team and people do not show up. It ain't brain surgery guys.

I love playing George or Marian to Roxy's Topper, and agree that the block function is sooooo great!
If the Mets had money to spend and got a great team and a winning streak, ticket prices would go up and up and Roxy would bitch and moan, bitch and moan.
In other words, things would be no different.

Roxy, I was at the Friday game. Some people hung out in the Club sections to not get rained upon. I am still not sure the team is a disaster when the starting pitching has been good as it has been despite their ace being out for the year. And the minors show even more strength in that department.
And enough with the Beltran curse bull**** you continue to drum. Wheeler is certainly not the worst thing to get out of such a curse. Shouldn't CitiField be the cursed place since we have zero winning seasons? Wait- I should stop theorizing to give you any ideas.
But whatever, Roxy making a season long thread of his 'favorite' baseball team then he should have at it. Honestly, the Wilpons being cheap people who hang out with the likes of Chris Christie should mean they are dream owners for the Roxys of the fan base.

Classic Mets today _ great pitching and failure to hit in the clutch. David (overrated) Wright failed again miserably. Granderson is continuing to be a big bust & Travis D catching is beyond bad at bat.
It is going to be a long season gang. I have never been to Citifield but would go if they fielded a competitive team. No way I am going and even considering their $ 6 hot dog with these sleepwalkers. The starting pitchers should sue the batters for non support. Their offensive is laughingly offensive.

They win a series but they're still a disaster. Roxy, for somebody who is clearly not at their first rodeo as a fan, you come across as an impatient, petulant child.
I'll go to Citi more this season. I want to see Puello, Montero, and Syndegaard up, of course- so later in the year. I'll enjoy a Shack Burger and the wide array of beer selection. Usually I pay no more than $20 via goldstar for tickets and take the train. Highly recommend it. But if you think the stadium is nothing more than overpriced hot dogs, then you deserve to miss out.

How long before Travis D gets sent down? He, like most of the Mets, seem like a deer caught in the headlights at the plate. They did not want to spend money on Stephen Drew so they have the no hit wonder Tejada. They may wind up losing more games than last year.
How long before the fans start giving up on them and stay home? What a shame . Even when the Yankees do not make it, you know it is not for want of trying. The Mets seem to give up on themselves earlier than their fans do. Management gave up on them years ago. What a shame.

Roxy doesn't do well with the whole speaking the truth to him thing.
He's pretty cowardly too. Takes a big stand in a PM and then blocks the recipient from responding.
You know what's gonna happen when the Mets have a good season, right? He'll be complaining that the rising prices are too prohibitive for the real fans like him.

Posted: 4/6/14 at 11:27pmRoxy is this huge Mets fan and he's never even been to Citi Field. WTF? My favorite was yesterday after a 2 run homer, Curtis Granderson is really coming around. Today after an 0-4, he's a bust. Just THAT quickly. We all have our rough days but he's just bitter and miserable all the time. What a way to live. Oh, and if you don't agree that Rocky and Big Fish were far and away THE 2 highlights of the entire theater season, you're wrong and even worse, quite possibly a liberal.

I wish Roxy was at opening day so I could've spotted him letting out a huge sigh when Mayor DeBlasio threw out the first pitch.
Anyway, it is the first week. I usually am more insistent on taking the pulse of the team when it is around the time they really have to bring up players from the minor leagues, like Montero, Puello, and Syndegaard. But I don't get why one can still be down when Mejia, Gee, and Wheeler had well-pitched games consecutively. If you kept track of the game and this thread, Roxy made that white flag post before the game even ended. Were he actually a patron at CitiField, he would have been in the parking lot before the ninth inning. On this season as a whole, I am not expecting too much but I think of it as the camp ground situation. I think the team will likely be better than it was found earlier in the year, though I expect players like Niese, Davis, Valverde, and Colon to be trade pieces, price tags vary given you'll be lucky to get anything of value for Davis.
But I think neither New York team is doing business this year. The Yankees are better off casting out older players and focus on Pineda and Tanaka as the future but I am not going to pretend to be an expect on their farm system or what they could possibly do in free agency.
