MAUDE ran from 1972-78 and was brilliant in a way that the GG never was. GG relied too much on sex and jokes; MAUDE was more for character.
And on the final episode was Mary Louise Wilson. Other guests during the run were Henry Fonda, John Wayne, and Nanette Fabray. Rue Mc was Maude's best friend.

"THE GOLDEN GIRLS was post-MAUDE."
I KNOW that, S&M2. I know that. There was another point in my post, too subtle for you apparently, but as a narrator I just assumed my readers didn't need to be taken by the hand before they crossed the street to get to it.

"The Honeymooners" is already available on DVD, or at least it was. The original "classic 39" are on Paramount DVD and the color hour musicals are also out there.
I'm like a small child, Namo. I need to be led and held everywhere I go.
Great news! I'm a big Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman fan! Loved it! It's my favorite 70's show and my fondest memory of my senior year of High School. (Isn't that sad?) I had the biggest (secret) crush on Officer Foley. I used to drive my parents crazy with this show. I would stay up and insist on their watching it with me, but they just didn't get it. (Although, in spite of themselves, even they couldn't hold back a laugh every now and then.) I don't buy many television series on DVD (with the exception of The Judy Garland Show), but this is one collection I'll definitely have to consider, especially since you hardly ever see the episodes aired.

I loved Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman so much that I was also a regular viewer of Fernwood 2Nite!
The little girl singer in the iron lung - now THAT'S comedy.

From IMDB...
A spin-off of "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman." After Mary ran off with her policeman boyfriend and left town, the focus shifted to her heart-broken ex-husband Tom, and the rest of the oddball residents of Fernwood, Ohio
Yeah, that show never really worked.

It's time to fess up. Who here (besides me) had Mary Kay Place's record ("Yes, RECORD!") with "Baby Boy" on it?
Can't say that I did.
