Haha, Cat, they did the same thing at the concert I went to!
WesternSky, HFStival almost always has a great line-up. Those were just the main stage bands; they also have a street stage where lesser-known bands perform. When I was looking up the line-up of all the bands, I realized that Fountains of Wayne (Stacy's Mom) performed on the street stage at that concert, and Good Charlotte was another year, years before either band was on TRL.
That's very cool. I saw a free Fountains of Wayne concert in Boston last September. I've seen Good Charlotte twice.. I don't care what anyone says, I love them.
I've liked Good Charlotte for years, because they were just a local band back in the day (er, 5 years ago). The only thing that I don't like about them now is that Joel is dating Hilary Duff, so he and Benji are going to be on her next CD. EW!
The guy that did my tattoo also did the tattoos on many of the guys from Good Charlotte. I didn't know that at the time, but I found it out from the place's website a few days later.
Hilary Duff?! I would think Joel would have better taste than that! That saddens me.
I thought so too
That silly boy. I am far superior to Hilary Duff.. lol
Elton John is just absolutely ridiculous... so i would say that concert

Green Day earlier this year. Absolutely amazing! They sounded incredible live. I've seen some footage from European festivals where they sounded slighty off kilter, but when you're actually there you don't really notice, or at least I didn't.
And Billie Joe is a sexy beast if ever there was one - I was so close I could taste his sweat. Yum.
What you mean is you jumped on stage and licked the microphone after the show was over, right?
The Beatles. August 15, 1965. Shea Stadium.

Green Day in Massachusetts back in April... simply incredible!!
And I'm sure the Giant Stadium Green Day concert in 4 DAYS is going to be amazing too. I can't wait!
Nickelback, 3 Doors Down and Seven Channels (who are now known as The Vanished)
Another for vote for Elton .. I caught his performance last year at Radio City Music Hall (5 night run I think) .. He played with the London Philharmonic & Julliard (sp?) School of Music. Elton continued to play his piano, while the band took a break. Looking forward to seeing him next month!
Can't just pick one. All the Springsteen, Elton John and Journey w/Steve Perry concerts I've gone to. Oh and the Eagles this past March.

OK, I've got two...
1.) U2's surprise, free concert under the Brooklyn Bridge in November. After trolling around online all day on Sunday, I finally got confirmation that it was going to be at Brooklyn's Fulton Ferry State Park, got (what ended up being totally useless) e-tix from 1iota.com, and was good to go. Hoofed it across the bridge and got in line at 11 am. Stood in line for several hours and after the mad dash when they finally opened the gates, made it about 10 rows from the stage, dead center. What a hell of a concert. It was only about an hour long, but twilight under the Brooklyn Bridge w/ the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop...JUST AMAZING! "City of Blinding Lights" was absolutely breathtaking!
2.) Elton John. My senior year of high school, and he was playing at our new civic center. The concert was totally sold out, but my mom surprised me w/ tix that she somehow managed to snag the day of the concert. So, we knew we were on the floor going in, and saw that it was Section 3, row A...We figured we'd be in the third section (you know how there are usually blocks of sections on the floor?) back...NO! We were in THE VERY FRONT ROW! And as if that wasn't enough, we were on the left side, right in front of Elton playing the piano. CRAZY! It was also a couple of days after George Harrison had died, and he dedicated "Your Song" to him...I was bawling. What an incredible concert!
