I agree with many of these. Unfortunately, stuff from before the mid 80s or that mever got replayed in reruns I don't know because I'm only 24.
My favorites were Duck Tales, Fraggle Rock, The Noozles, and The Little Koala. I'm sure the last 2 are not too well known because I was watching those on Nick Jr. They were awesome shows though.

Anyone remember the "good news" segment from Wonderama? Bob McAllister would get up there and sing:
Oh have you heard any good news today, today
I want to hear what you have to say
Wait 'til I get to the count of three
And tell me all the good news you have for me
Uh one, two, three
Then he'd stick a microphone in some kids face and they would breathlessly say: "My aunt had a baby."
Of course there was always the dumb kid that raised their hand and when the microphone was stuck in their face couldn't get it out fast enough or would forget what they were going to say.
I had always wanted to go on the show and say "My dog died" and fake crying and see what Bob McAllister did.

I loved ZOOM because it encouraged kids to be creative and DIY. Jonathan Couette was certainly a fan!
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

You know, I still use Schoolhouse Rock to remember all of my grammar and multiplication tables? And it really came in handy in Biology two years ago.

I agree that Sesame Street is the gold standard.
Also, it's hard to ignore the impact of Mr. Rogers.

Romper Room!
...waiting in anticipation for your name to be read in the magic mirror!
"Romper, bomper, stomper boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me, do. Magic mirror, tell me today. Have all my friends had fun at play?" She would then lead into "I can see Scotty and Kimberly and Julie and Jimmy and Marcie and all of you boys and girls out there!"

My mom always got upset that they never called "Maureen." I think it scarred her for life, actually.

I had my picture on Romper Room once, I was very excited. I second whoever said Magic Garden. I bought VHS tapes of that at Westchester Broadway Theater.

They never said my name on Romper Room either.
When I was little, my name was rather uncommon, believe it or not...especially since it became the Number 1 girl's name in America for several years.
My brother was on Wonderama once. He was hilarious because he's ultra-fastidious and didn't want to get "messy" even though they picked him to participate in something that required the application of greasy makeup to his face and hands. He then had to entertain the crowd as a sort of "court jester," and he was so disgusted by what he being forced to do that he just stood there while all those screaming kids responded to the "applause" sign for about 10 minutes. It was surreal.
As you can see, I come from a family of non-conformists!

When I was a kiddie, I would run home from kindergarten to watch DARK SHADOWS. For some reason, no one wanted to play with me.

With Romper Room, in order for Miss _____ (Louise in NYC) to see you in the magic mirror, your parents had to write to the station. I got my name read a couple of times because I was a Romper Room junkie. I had all their products: Romper Stompers, the punching balloon. I was a good Doo Bee.
