Maybe I missed something, but when did she claim to be extremely talented? She's got a great belt voice, a crystal clear head voice, natural charisma, and she can dance her ass off.
I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS. THIS BETTER BE SOME SICK JOKE, BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T DESERVE TO SING WITH JOSH GROBAN. HE IS MUCH MORE TALENTED THAN SHE IS, AND HE WAS THE ONE WHO SANG THE SONG ON THE CD AND IN THE MOVIE. WHY SHOULD HE HAVE TO SING IT WITH HER? SHE IS GOING TO POP IT UP, AND I HATE THAT. THIS IS AWFUL... AND I CAN'T BELIEVE OUT OF ALL THE PEOPLE TO SING WITH, SHE HAS TO SING WITH MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE SINGER JOSH GROBAN. I THINK HE IS AMAZING, AND IT IS A WASTE TO SING WITH BEYONCE.

YOU CAN START SLITTING YOUR WRISTS NOW CUZ IT'S HAPPENING AND THERE'S NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO ABOUT IT. SO BUILD A BIG OLD BRIDGE AND GET OVER IT!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I think a lot of people haven't heard Beyonce sing anything besides the pop/R&B stuff she's known for. I really enjoyed her performance of "Somewhere" from WSS for Katie Couric's benifit. I think people will be surprised when they hear her perform this song. It's just like when Aaliyah(R.I.P) sung "Journey To the Past" at the Oscars. She turned a lot heads because her signature style was constantly using a falsetto voice. A lot of people that that that's all she could do, but that performance showed more or her range and that she actually have a strong chest voice.
Beyonce will also be singing LEARN TO BE LONELY and THE CHORUS at the Oscars as well. I think having her sing one song is great, but 3? The songs use their uniqueness. I'm glad she's singing LEARN TO BE LONELY - hopefully she'll make the song seem good.

As for what other performer had the year she had last year...her name would be Alicia Keys. Alicia doesn't have Beyonce's range but she is a far better singer, writer and overall talent. Matthew Knowles would have you to believe that Beyonce is the #1 black woman in America. Alicia's people should really address that.
Alicia did well last year, but she didn't break out like Beyonce did. Making a solo turn and getting rave reviews for great performances (Divas Live, SNL, Grammys) made her stick out more. Alicia basically duplicated what she did with her first CD(sales, etc). Beyonce ruled the clubs with her infectious hooks. Alicia Keyes is more on the soulful tip. As to who's better it's a matter of taste. I saw them together in concert last year and to me, Beyonce is the better writer, singer, and performer. The only thing Alicia has on her is that she plays the piano which makes many think automatically that she must be so incredibly talented. Whereas, Beyonce shakes her booty and gets flack for it, but Ms. Keyes was shakin' her tail on top of her piano, no doubt. At the concert, Beyonce was the marquee act and Alicia performed before her. So, her first line of business is to talk to her people about that, because Matty Knowles made sure his baby girl was the headliner, ya dig?
