Who else is frustrated by the magazines and tv shows that claim to tell you how to dress, but separate everything?
Big hips - wear THIS
Big busted - wear THAT
Pear-shaped - wear THE OTHER
Petite - wear THIS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THING
What about those of us who are ALL THESE THINGS?

My name is Kate and I have hips, an ass, boobs, and a belly and I'm tired of clothes made for women with none of these things. I'm too big for "standard" sizes and I'm too small for plus sizes. I'm mad as h3ll at my clothing options and I'm not gonna take it anymore!
Thanks, Rath!

Posted: 11/18/05 at 11:56amRath, I think that "how to dress" stuff is just ridiculous in general. "You're large-chested, so wear X to minimize your bust." I'm a DD, I don't think there's much "minimizing" to be had there. They're too big. They'll look big in whatever you put them in. End of story.

Posted: 11/18/05 at 12:04pmCostume- I wholeheartedly agree. My mom would always tell me that I looked like a "walking tit." I'm sorry. They're DD's. There's no piece of clothing that's going to make them look like anything else. They may get in the way sometimes, but they're part of who I am and men love them (I call them my weapons of mass distraction).

Posted: 11/18/05 at 12:12pmUgh, thank you! The fashion world is out to get everyone, I swear. I'm tall (5'8") with a long torso, short legs, big hips/waist area and small boobs. Everything that's supposed to make my legs look longer ends up making my mid-section look even wider in proportion, or just throws it off completely and I look like a giant. And I've given up on maximizing my chest- it's not great at the other end of the scale either.

Posted: 11/18/05 at 12:15pmThis store (www.torrid.com) is wonderful and is spreading all over the US. However, they still sometimes assume a little too freely that all big girls are tall or must have huge boobs if they have a big waist. It's still the best I've found though...it's a shame how most stores like this are purely online, which makes it a b***h to shop.

I'm not big enough for plus-size, just big enough for normal clothes to look horrible on me.
SOMM, they're "perfect" because their doctors made them that way.
