I need to get my english peice ready for College audtions. I nearly found everything else. And I want this to really showcase a my belt. (I've spent forever gaining it.) They don't have to be musical theater, and actually it'd be a big plus if they weren't.

Bump because I would also lke to know this.
maybe try Soliloquy from Carousel, it has a high G but it is really a baritone piece
Also maybe I Am What I Am from La Cage Aux Folles
C'est Moi from Camelot!!! It really allows you to act with it and really get into the piece! + if you play it right theres very subtle humor! The highest note is an E i think. But there are alot of dynamics i mean the first opening chords of the song are huge and you have to really belt out Camelot nice and loud lol. It has alot of really low notes but it also has alot of medium range notes for baritones!! try it!
C'est moi is a good idea.
"Too Many Tommorows" from Sweet Charity is good, that also goes to a G.

Stars from Les Mis, that's Baritone isn't it?
If you were able to sing the higher bits maybe you could do 'Unsettled Scores' from Whistle down the Wind. I like to use that.
It took me a while from John and Jen. Love that song.

"If I Can't Love Her" from Beauty and the Beast
"What Kind of Fool am I?" from STOP THE WORLD---I WANT TO GET OFF
The last 8 bars will work wonders for your Baritone belt. =)
is it considered standard musical theater repitoire jw and what is the highest note? i think i can reach a B but that's really pushing it lol

ooooh i love "Bob's Aria" from The Old Maid and the Thief! Beautiful.
I am always in search of good baritons songs. Especially up beat ones. It is waaaay too hard to find one.
i'm just curious to know what you mean by baritone "belt."
my studies with the teachers at juilliard and the carnegie hall voice studio inform me that such a thing does not exist. at least for baritones who sing properly.
I was going to say "If I Can't Love Her", but someone beat me to it.
I think by belt he meant money note songs. And we could go back and forth all day about the technical apsect of belting and what not. And I, whom have had the pleasure of seeing soapy perform, am 100% certian that he is singing properly.
Ken, Dannyboy is right I mean money notes (More powerfully sang than the rest of the song) Anywho, I either have or have ordered sheet music for a few of the songs mentioned in this thread. Now it's a matter of chosing which one I can pull off the best. Thanks for your help.
