South Florida. You are an SJB fan and quite active on BroadwayWorld.com, but you're absolutely repulsed by the visuals of two men being intimate? Jesus Christ.
Are you, by any chance, a self-loathing closeted homosexual?

Posted: 1/20/15 at 4:36pmHere's me. I'm an SJB fan cause I saw her down here in Wicked. I had seen Broadway shows before but only a few. a traveling tour of Rent, Phantom in NY. Something about Stephanie J. and wicked stirred my heart. Since then I've been looking for other story telling musicals that thrive in my heart, the current one is Fun Home.

But it was a trilogy. Plus the coda, "Heatstroke," that had a title theme song by Man Parrish, which was released on a major label.

Posted: 1/20/15 at 5:40pmYeah, and I know who Sam Gage was but was sworn to secrecy. He was casting director on a VERY major TV series and helped Joe Gage with his cinematic ambitions. Even though Kansas City Trucking Co was made on a shoestring with looped dialogue, it looks like a million bucks. From El Paso on we're talking great filmmaking all around.

Posted: 1/20/15 at 6:30pmOf COURSE you do! Walking down Restaurant Row once with my boyfriend I was like, "Who is that glamorous woman so dressed up before sunset?" and it turned out to be Margaret Whiting being escorted into a supper club by Jack. Boyfriend didn't gay gasp at ALL even though I did. I only nodded, what was there to say?

I talked to Ms. Whiting on the phone about 3 days later, as I had a business contact to relay to Mr. Wrangler. We had a mutual friend who invited me for drinks that night. They were headed to hear Jill O'Hara's cabaret debut, to put a bit of timeline on the event. I'm thinking this was circa 1988, no later than spring of '89. He was kind, articulate, and very short; I towered over him. And he didn't drink alcohol, if memory serves. The hair was surfer blonde. I kept his card for years.

If only he could have kicked those Virginia Slims, he might still be with us.
He was in the first of the Gage trilogy movies, "Kansas City Trucking Co." doing the kind of thing Billy Crystal doesn't want people to think of as "every day."

I think I only checked out Kansas City Trucking in the first place (which led me to looking up more Gage films,) after seeing the excellent Jack Wrangler documentary. (And here some older gay men claim younger gay guys have no interest in gay history... :P )

Posted: 1/20/15 at 7:09pmI think maybe Joe Gage deserves a family friendly thread of his own, if that's possible. I mean, I'd be inclined to link to his blog, but it's NSFF, not safe for fantods.
