BoCo auditions?
BoCo auditions?#0
Posted: 12/18/05 at 9:22pmHas anyone tried out for BoCo? I was wondering what the audition was like, and what the dance part is like? I am applying for Musical Theatre. How was the atmosphere and the people who were auditioning you> I am trying out in Feb. and I'm really nervous, so I am just curious how everyone else's audition experience was. Were the nice when they heard you, or any other useful info. Sorry to babble, I am just curious. Thanks so much!!!

My friend auditioned a couple years ago and I think it is pretty normal, like any other audition, they probably won't be overly nice but I don't think they're purposefully evil. If you got your date confirmed then I think you can check online about the process, like there's a tour and then the dance audition and then singing or something. Break a leg.

Posted: 12/19/05 at 10:07amI auditioned last year. They were nice and supplied my friend and I with practice/warm-up rooms before the audition. However - the other students auditioning for the program were remarkably rude. BoCo is very interested in musical abilities, so 1. focus on your songs. 2. If you play an instrument let them know or at least have it written on your resume. I remember that there were three men not including the accompanist who watched the auditions and they didn't seem to spend much time with each student.

Posted: 12/20/05 at 12:48amI auditioned at Boston Conservatory last year and got in. There is no dance part. They do give you practice rooms so get there early. You wait in this little hall outside the room. There were 2 people auditioning me. I sang with the accompanist in this tiny space and then they had me sit at the table and they interviewed me. Easy in and out. Better than some places....

re: BoCo auditions?#14
Posted: 12/21/05 at 3:39amUnified audition is just a bunch of representatives from colleges go to either Chicago or New York or San Fransisco and you audition for all of them there. It's more convenient and WAY less expensive than going to each college, so lots of people do it. Mine are Feb. 4th and 5th and New York, exciting.

born2c - unifieds are just off-site auditions that a lot of schools attend so you can kill several birds with one stone.
