re: Anybody going to see MOTHER COURAGE? Post your thoughts here

Just got home from this evening's performance and I was very impressed. It's clear that the show will improve as days go by but it's a wonderful adaptation with wonderful music. I hope Kushner and Tesori continue to create together. Meryl was really wonderful but I felt as though Austin Pendelton stole the show; his performance was effortless. If you can, try and make it to this long yet worth while production of Mother Courage.

"tres hanley did for good solo it wasn't good"

Elphie30 - I know all of this is completely subjective but I thought that Tres Hanley did a really nice job with For Good and I'm not sure if you've heard the rest of her album but it's really quite impressive. I'm surprised we haven't seen more from her as of yet.

Judith Blazer's Artist's Crossing Workshop - Aug. 4-6

Hey!

I was all signed up to be a part of Judy's Artist's Crossing workshop but I won't be able to attend; I realized many of you might be interested. The workshop will be held on August 4th, 5th and 6th in NYC and will include many panelists/teachers such as Mary Testa, David Garrison and Judy herself. I was a part of the 2005 company and it was truly a life changing experience. For more information go to www.artistscrossing.com or click the link below.

Workshop Production of a New Musical Play - Defintion of a Housewife

On June 29 and 30 at 6:00 PM in the Lerner Black Box Theater at Columbia University there will be a workshop production of a new musical play, Definition of a Housewife, by Joshua Morgan and Jeffery Self. In an attempt to receive audience feedback, Jeffery and I would like to invite a few of some of the general theatre audience members to watch the show and help us in taking the show to the next level. We have a lot of faith in the piece and would love to be able to share it with more than the i

Contact Michael Lavine at BroadwayMHL@aol.com. I know he definitely has the music for "See What I Wanna See" and pretty much anything else you might be looking for.

re: Cats?? so what??

They just mean that there have been many topics on this already and all you have to do is go to the Search box in the top right corner of the screen and type in Cats to view past discussions on this very topic.

re: Katie Clarke - Piazza

I thought Katie was a wonderful actress. She brings a lot of new things to the role that I didn't see before Kelly. She chose to make her a little more obviously young, psychologically speaking, and I wasn't sure how I felt about it because it changed the show but it was a choice and she stuck with it. Her voice didn't seem to have nearly as much of the weight as Kelly O'Hara which was also kind of interesting because it seemed right for the role but also seemed to lack a bit of exuberance. By t

re: Best Leading Actress in a Play - Who gets the TONY?

Cherry Jones was very good. As was Kathleen Turner but I felt that Rashad was incomparable. I understand that she received the Tony last year but I felt as though her performance was breathtaking and deserves recognition (as does the whole production). Also - Lenox was very commanding but I feel like none of the Supporting Actresses come anywhere near Heather Goldenhersh. I had never seen her before and I was in awe. She has an impassioned rawness about her. I'm definitely rooting for Rashad and
