Well... I have to say, I'm pleasantly suprised.
There isn't a case where I felt that the Tony award went to the wrong person/people.

I predict 17 threads with outrage that 'Wicked' didn't sweep.

Haha- agreed. If you go the main board, you'll see that the first whole page is either Wicked or Q threads.... kind of funny really, but I'm very happy for Q!

TGC made me think of you immediately Dolly... it made me laugh. I immediately wondered what you were thinking.

I enjoyed the entire show... with the exception of Mary J. Blige. I'm glad I recorded it on DVR, there are many parts I would like to see again.

I couldn't be more pleased--Wicked got the awards it deserved, as did Ave Q and Assassins.

A great, and I believe, fair night for Broadway.

I agree--the 4 best shows of last season were honored with Best Play or Musical (and Revivals) awards. And, I really felt that Idina's winning was a "fair" conclusion to such a heavy category--she has never won (and we knew that Stephanie was the dark horse despite being just as deserving).

I am so happy for Q's coming out on top--I was so damn happy for the writers and for the show. I literally started jumping up and down and screaming when it won Best Musical--who thought that Wicked would not win it?

Q got all of the really good awards: musical, book, score. that's really great for the show. it really proves that off broadway shows have something to aspire to

Being probably the only person on this board to have seen the Tony's tonight for the first time, I have to say that the fact that the little show that could came out on top makes me very happy, and it ensures that I will be watching again next year.

I can hear Oscar screaming in agony as my obsession with him slowly fades away..

I can't tell you how happy I was. I was certain Wicked would win. Excellent. It went to the deserving show.

It was my first Tonys too! And every year I go from movies to Broadway to TV and then back to movies....

I went the year it was done at the Mark Hellinger theater. Angela Lansbury hosted and Miz won. It was also pre-Mojito days. I was such a square. And now I am a first class HUSSY!
