Personally, I have nothing against it. Most women try to be descrete about it.
Yesterday I was at the finish line of the Chicago Marathon (as a spectator) and I saw a woman holding a baby sitting next to a garbage can I looked around the can to get a better look at the baby and got a better look of something I wasn't banking on. I quickly looked away feeling guilty. But then I thought "why do I feel guilty? she's the one with her tat out in public."

A lot of times you can't even tell the baby is being breast-fed. That doesn't bother me. Keep it under wraps, ladies, and there is no problem.

I agree with the "under wraps" thing. If you don't understand what a woman with her baby on her lap with a blanket covering the baby is doing then you're young enough to not need to know.
My initial question deals with nipples out in broad daylight.
I also think the mother should think about how she would feel in seven or eight years and her kid said to her "Mom, what is that lady doing with her boobie out?"

That's just wrong. I don't care if palentologists do say cave-women did it until the kids was four, that's just wrong.
Oh my God! I just pictured it! Ahhhhhh!
If the kid is old enough to say "Mommy I want some titty" then he's old enough to be weened.
When that kid is thirty he'll wonder why he has a lactation fettish.

Posted: 10/11/04 at 1:38pmi have absolutely no problem with women breastfeeding in public. of course, there is no need to be blatantly obvious about it. the woman sitting next to me on my flight home last night was breastfeeding. i honestly wouldn't have even known if i didn't hear the "suckling".

covered or not, i don't think it's ever really inappropriate.
it's a boob for crikey's sake! what are we all freaked out about????
though i must say, i was ASTONISHED by the size of my sister-in-law's nipples when she was breast-feeding. i didn't know they came that big!!
