re: Bring it On: The Musical

Ithink it would make a good festival show, but that it would need to die promptly afterwards

re: Bring it On: The Musical

I've never been a fan of these types of movies to begin with, so I would probably not be crazy about them as musicals either.

When I first saw this, I thought it was a sarcastic thread.
No, definitely not. I think I would slit my throat.
There wouldn't be lights bright enough!

That is one of my guilty pleasure movies. As a musical? Um . . . . on the fence with that one.

But I'm A Cheerleader: The Musical

I think that "But I'm A Cheerleader" would make a fabulous satiric musical. That I'd go to see. Who's with me?
How can they see with sequins in their eyes?

But I'm A Cheerleader: The Musical

They already did 'But I'm A Cheerleader', at some festival. It included Kelly Karbacz and John Hill as Rock. They should bring it back for a run off-Broadway.

But I'm A Cheerleader: The Musical

Okay. I wrote one of the opening numbers... Pretty cheesy!

CAPTAIN

Big Red- My name is Big Red,
And I'll be red 'til I'm dead.
My name should strike dread
In your puny little head.

I'm captain of this squad.
So, everyone, applaud!
Applaud!
We've won Nationals every year,
But only 'cause Big Red is here.

My senior year is done.
By the way, I finished number one.
So, my days as captain are through.

Darcy- How sad!

So, a new captain they need,
But who?

Girls- But who?

Whitney- I want it to be me!

Darcy- My daddy pays for everything.
Without him, this squad wouldn't have a thing.
Without me, this squad would nothing.
Without my daddy's checkbook,
This squad would be history.

Courtney- Darcy thinks that she
Should get the prize

Whitney- Just because her daddy
Has some stock in Maybeline.

Courtney- But has Darcy's not seen
Her pant size?

Courtney and Whitney- How can we have a captain
Who's a size fourteen?

Carver- I want it to be me!

Darcy- My daddy pays for everything.

Casey- I think it should be me!

Darcy- My father is the sponsor of this team!

Carver- It just has to be me!

Darcy- That's why I deserve this monarchy.

Casey and Carver- I'm not voting for Darcy.

Darcy- And that is why you should vote for me!

Courtney- It's going to be me!

Torrance- I really hope it's me!
This really could be a possibility.
I've worked all year.
I've strived all the time.
Now, the day is here.
The title could be mine.
Will I get a sign?

Aaron says that I'll get it.
I really need this.
I should just forget it
There's no way that I'll get captain.
No one thinks I'm gonna a win.
There's no way I'll will get captain.

Big Red- And I am aproud to announce,
Or rather, denounce
The girl who will be acquiring the throne.
The girl who will permanently own
This title.
So, don't be idle
When I announce who...
Our new...

Girls and Boys- Captain!

Casey and Darcy- I wanna be.

Torrance, Les, and Jan- Captain!

Courtney and Carver- It's meant for me!

Whitney and Casey-

Torrance- Oh, who will be?

Big Red- Torrance Shipman.

Torrance- Captain!

But I'm A Cheerleader: The Musical

Does anyone know what "Bring It On" Andy Blankenbuehler is working on next? I remember reading his bio in the 9 to 5 playbill, and it mentions that he's working on something of the same title.
