Dgrant,

I thought Bailey was good too--especially her legendary "Act III performance" after the actual show was over.

I also like Mary Martin's take on the role--ever hear the Original London Cast with her?

I believe I'm one of the 'Hussy' crowd - pretty much in the shameless category re: Broadway Legend Initiation Ceremony

the thing I look forward to most on business trips to Dallas is leaving! OK -- that was more of a joke -- it's not fair to pick on places people live...so come the NYC, M_E!

MANY American musicals sound better in their London versions.

For example, I vastly prefer the West End Cast of HIGH SPIRITS to the Broadway One.

I have not heard that one M-E -- I was amazed at how different the london recording of Inot the Woods was from the OBC -- some of the tempos were ungodly and it seemed to work quite well...

KMC,

I was born and raised in Philadelphia so I spent my whole misguided youth in NYC!

And yes, I do miss it. Although I think I'll wait until BROOKLYN closes--nah, I'd like to make it back BEFORE 2013!
