My dancer teacher is from Long Island, born and raised, and she said that the majority of LIers smoke. and she should know, she smokes. Her dance teacher taught her how to when she was 12.
Why does any entertainer or sports figure have to be an example? If some pop tart wants to smoke and do drugs, that's her business. I care about their work, not their lives. Why must the two be conflated? They owe us nothing but their work. Period.
And what if something they do impacts the quality of their work? That, gymman, is how they're conflated, in a way that avoids the "example setting" argument.
That's their problem, not your's or mine. We don't live their lives for them (although many here seem to want to.) If they screw up their careers with smoke or booze or drugs, or if they don't, it's not our business.
And my initial post was to the "role model" nonsense...smoking is the least of the vices most of these folks have~lol
