Brava!
she was kind
I have gained so much respect for this woman.
But why stop at telling him to shut up. He needs to both shut up and go away.

Simple, succinct, and necessary--let's hope it's widely syndicated.
YOU GO BROOKE! I'm so proud of her, being so mature through this whole thing.
As she is heating up the stage in London, she also made time to write a mature and educational response to Tom. She could've easily just said "F*^k Tom" and went back to Roxie, but instead she chose to really set the facts straight. I really respect this woman. Props to Brooke.
Very classy.
Word, Craig.
Well done, Brooke.
It was a measured and thoughtful response to an unworthy rant.
She has carried herself with dignity, pride and has created an atmosphere of respect around her personality with this extremely personal and well written editorial. Mr. Cruise should feel terrible for what he has said, I know he won't but he should.
I say Katie Holmes, honey, get out while you still can. Nicole and (pardon my memory) his other ex found the path and you need to as well. This man is an unstable, reactionary creation of L. Ron Hubbard a unstable-reactionary in his own right.
Curious that John, Kelly, Kirsty, Jenna, et al. have been silent during this whole debacle.

That's what I was thinking too...way to defend the "religion."
Does anyone else wish Brooke a fabulous, multi-mega-million movie star comeback? She certainly deserves to be the box office smash of stage and screen over Tom "fly back to Mars" Cruise.
I am now officially in love with this woman and will support anything she does if my money can get me to it.
I have to admit I feel a bit guilty that I disliked her "Roxie" so much. Me? Unbiased?
I only wish Tom had made his comments earlier so I could have waited by the stage door to thank her and shake her hand.
Well, I've not found her particular effective in musical theatre but must admit I enjoy her on film and television. A lot. It's her medium and she looks beautiful always.
Funny thing is, about four days before the Cruise hit the fan, The Bachelor (that horrible Zelwegger/O'Donnell film) aired on TBS and Brooke has a secondary role in it. Absolutely wonderful comic turn.
I wouldn't be surprised if, after all this new publicity, there are more scripts on her doorstep. We can only hope!
(How many millions of dollars did WotW get on opening day, anyway?)
Has her Roxie been reviewed?
I haven't found any published reviews. By the time I came home from my trip, 3 weeks had already passed since she opened and I thought such a belated review would be irrelevant by then.
This is the only site with reviews that I can find. Not "professional" reviews, but audience reviews, and an abundance of them. Most people echoed my sentiment.

That was such a lovely response, and completely uncalled for. She could have reacted so much more aggressively, and no one would have thought twice about it.
But she comes off looking like an adult, Tom like a baby alien with autism.

Shut up Patty Lupone... I mean Tom Cruise.
He really irritates me these days. I think he has the Whitney Bobby syndrome.
Go Brooke! and hopefully this will bring more light to an often untalked about (and REAL!) condition.
Now, that's one classy broad! :)
