Who's your favorite maid/housekeeper/cleaning woman character in Stage/Screen/TV history?
My vote goes to the sinister Mrs. Danvers in Rebecca:
"Why don't you go? Why don't you leave Manderley? He doesn't need you... he's got his memories. He doesn't love you, he wants to be alone again with her. You've nothing to stay for. You've nothing to live for really, have you?"
What's yours?

Hazel - because Shirley Booth made something out of nothing.
Mrs. Livingston, from The Courtship of Eddies' Father. Just because.

Mom - I LOVED that show! Well, I really just loved Bill Bixby - and still do
And you're right, Mrs. Livingston WAS wonderful.
This is a toughie! It's a tie between Agador in The Birdcage and Nell Harper on Gimme a Break.

Shirley Booth's Hazel
Ann B. Davis' Alice
Esther Rolle's Florida Evans
Marla Gibbs' Florence

Marjorie Maine in "Meet Me In Saint Louis"! But, of course she was wonderful no matter what sort of domestic she played!
She has so many wonderful moments-- The Ketchup making scene, the Corned beef slicing scene, the kicking the cat down the stairs scene, but I think I like her speech about the puny ovens in New York Tenement kitchens the best!
Honorable mention would have to be "Annie" in "It's a Wonderful Life" who says "About time one of you lunkheads SAID it" and "Boys and girls and music-- why do they need Gin?" and of course the crowd pleaser "I been saving up for a divorce if'n I ever get a husband!"
Don't forget Rosie on The Jetsons!!
I prob would have to go with Nell Carter And Marla Gibbs.
But what about Tony Danza and Mr. Belvedere??
Ann B. Davis (Alice) in The Brady Bunch
Shelley Morrison in "Troop Beverly Hills" and on "Will and Grace"
Michael Benjamin Washington and all the other Jacobs in La Cage Aux Folles and the Birdcage.
without a doubt, Lane from "the importance of being Earnest"
"I think it was the Korean tour or something. They were all frickin' asian!" -Zoran912
Anyone in Gosford Park. Clive Owen doesn't technically count because he was a valet not a (male) maid. Otherwise my vote would go to him. Hot stuff....
Thelma Ritter in "Letter to Three Wives"
Frannie Halcyon's maid in the "Tales of the City" series
Alice (Ann B. Davis) from the Brady Bunch!
How can anyone miss Shelley Morrison on Will & Grace??
Definitely Shelley Morrison. And just the part in general of the maid (forget her name) in God's Favorite. Anyone sour about their position as a maid is pretty funny.
MAMMY in GWTW, of course.
"now you scrubs yerself wid dat strong lye soap, mr kennedy, 'fore i comes dere and scrubs ya mahself."
Thelma Ritter in PILLOW TALK and ALL ABOUT EVE (in everything).
Mary Wickes as Nurse Dora Pickford in NOW VOYAGER. (I know she is technically a Nurse but as Bette Davis tells her - "Dora, I suspect you're a treasure!")

Esmerelda from Bewitched! Does she qualify? If not, Shelley Morrison.
