Why is the President's comment controversial? He just said what everyone was thinking.
It shouldn't be controversial.......I agree!
Could the controversy be that the "president" said it? I for one am glad he did-I thought it made him seeeem like " one of the guys" you could be hanging around with!
What's the big deal? Kanye was a jack ass for doing what he did.
The President is just like everyone else, and can express his opinion, like we all can. His comment was "off the record," and it really wasn't the best choice for the reporter to announce what they heard. That a was breach.
Either way.......if Obama feels that way, so what?
Because non-supporters of the President will do anything to find something about Obama controversial.
Personally, I don't care if he thinks Kanye is a jackass or the nicest guy in the world. His opinion of Kanye is the least important of matters, and there are bigger issues to be concerned about.
It isn't like he is just calling Kanye a jackass out of the blue - most other people in the nation familiar with the situation think the same thing.
As he quoted, cut the President some slack!

Apparently most people don't want the President stating simple facts like children should stay in school and make something of themselves and that Kanye West is the wrong side of a horse.
Next thing you know Obama will say that women should be treated with respect and someone will counter by slapping his own wife on camera, stick his tongue out and say "Nuh-uh".
Lol, killertofu333.
Yeah, these are the same idiots who think that he was born in Kenya and that he's a communist, and how dare he tell childen to stay in school and be a good student, right?
I wonder if these are the same idiots who built all those underground bunkers in Montana right before Y2K, when the world was going to come to an end? Are those people still underground?

I may be wrong, but from everything I've read so far the controversy is not over the President's remark itself, but the fact that some ABC employees overheard the comment over an optic feed line they share with MNBC and then tweeted about it. The comment was meant to be off the record and MNBC respectfully extended him that courtesy but the eavesdroppers from ABC did not. ABC has issued an apology to both President Obama and MNBC.

In the good old days, if the President said something that was obviously NOT meant to be repeated in public, the press would respect that.
Hell, in the good old days, if the press knew the president and/or his brother was screwing a certain blonde movie star, they would keep quiet about it.
Ah yes...the good ole days when our Presidents were respected.

What we really need to consider is, what if Kanye West is retarded?

OK, I have to leave in a few minutes to get Henry at the bus stop, so I couldn't read the whole thing, but what I did read was hilarious!
I guess this makes the President a liar, because Kanye West is a DOUCHEBAG.
Jackass is too good a word for him.
*edit, since that made no sense.*
HA... i was at hot topic yesturday and asked one of the employees if they were going to burn all the kanye merch. we had a rather nice conversation on the subject. i made a new friend. =]

He still believes that Kanye is a Jackass.

Yes, Kanye is a jackass. But I sort of agreed with him about the Single Ladies video.
And now he has a new "girlfriend" with a giant ass.
Gah! I just saw a picture of her I can't unsee.
