Cat Power

I just saw this.
I can't believe how serious the lacerations were.
But that cat.
Not to be F*CKed with.
I can't see it from the link but I Googled because I had to see it! Even after the dog ran away the cat ran after him! Tough little kitty!
“Cats were the gangsters of the animal world, living outside the law and often dying there. There were a great many of them who never grew old by the fire.”
---Stephen King
You don't to mess with that kitty
To the owner: If it looks like kitty does not want to be petted leave it alone. Let this cat do whatever it wants whenever it wants.
Roxy, WTF are you talking about? Did you watch a different video?

How come every cat I've ever met wants to scratch me up? I've never met a cat like that before.
Somewhat disappointed that this story did not involve Chan Marshall saving a boy from a dog attack, but, damn, go kitty, go!

Here is the thing about cats... They are majestic creatures.. And quite comfortable in themselves and on their own. They dont blindly follow you and they have a strong will. Respect the cat and show that you each depend on each other and earn the cats affection and respect and they will CUT a bitch for you. I learned that as a child.
I have friends with a cat who doesnt loke anyone new and doesnt always warm up to people. It took a few weeks, but we bonded. Now that cat has my back. I go over and he is by my side, on my lap, cuddling with me, sitting behind my shoulder and licking me. If i lounge to watch tv, he curls up by me. If i nap there, he has quite literally stood guard.
Thanks for explaining Cats, BroadwayGuy. I had a similar experience with Phantom.

Hahaha. I just find it so funny when people say they dont like cats because they dont follow quite so blindly as dogs. I absolutely love both, but they are apples and oranges, such wonderfully different creatures.
I adopted my cats when they were 6 weeks old in 1999. They're approaching 15. When I brought them with me to my parents house for the Christmas holiday, my mom made the comment that one of my cats stood guard over me as I was sleeping on their sofa.
Was the cat saving the boy or just chasing the dog?
I want to believe the former. But the latter is at least equally likely.
Good question. Why don't you ask the cat?
The cat didn't show up until the dog got aggressive. It might have been more of "you don't come on my turf acting like that". But, we'll never know the truth. Whatever the reason the boy was saved from serious harm so that's the awesome part. :)
Chasing the dog saved the boy. So...cat saved boy. End of story. :)

True enoigh, but look at the video. The intent of the cat was VERY clear. Kitty was saving boy.
Also, the cat returned after the dog was driven away.
We often joke that our cat has a very clear idea of whom belongs to him: myself, my husband and our son. (Everyone else is suspect, though the cat isn't vicious, just aloof with others.)
I think the cat in the video--like any good rancher--was protecting the livestock.
Tara the cat was a stray who followed the couple home one day. Apparently after their son was born the cat formed a strong bond with him.
"The child is lucky to have such a strong bond with the fearless feline: according to the outlet, when Jeremy was a newborn, Tara would crawl into his crib to curl up beside him.
Fortunately the boy walked away with only a few stitches thanks to his friend.
"She's a hero!" Jeremy cheers in the video above."

According to the link Eric provided the dog is going to be put down. I know that's what usually happens in cases like this and the dog is overly aggressive but it still makes me sad.
How is a cat going to throw a baseball?
