#1CD stuck in a Mac computer...help!
Posted: 4/26/07 at 7:23pmOk, I hate posting these things, but I was importing "Legs Diamond" to my iTunes, and now the CD is stuck in the drive. I have tried everything, including the reboot, hold eject button. All that happens is it starts to eject, and instead just pulls it right back in. Anyone got suggestions? The nearest Apple store is my home town, and that's 6 hours away, and finals are starting soon, so I can't send in said computer.

Posted: 4/26/07 at 7:32pmSome Macs have a little pin hole next to the CD drive. I'm not sure which Mac you have but if it does have one of these holes you can use a paper clip, insert it in the hole and it will push the CD out of the drive.

Posted: 4/26/07 at 7:35pmI assume you tried to drag the CD to trash and it still didn't eject. Go to the Apple site Support page. Do a search of your problem. If they don't have a troubleshooting answer for you try the Popular Discussion page. They may have an answer there.

Posted: 4/26/07 at 7:39pmDid you try holding the mouse button while starting the computer? That'll perform a force eject, as long as there isn't something physically wrong with the drive mechanism.

I tried that too. I'm beginning to think something is actually wrong.
Trying the forum though.
EDIT:
Problem solved! I tried the stick a piece of paper into the drive and force the CD to be ejected that way.

Posted: 4/26/07 at 8:15pmthat happens with my computer alot, but i have a pc. i've never done the paper thing but if i try to actually pull the cd thing out while pressing the eject button, it works.

I plan to do so as soon as I get home. At least I know (As i have to burn 5-6 copies of a presentation to a CD), I CAN get them out as needed.

That doesn't work with Macs, because they have this awesome little side slot, that you put it into, so nothing pops out of the computer.

Yeah, Legs Diamond is still devastating people. Still - Brenda Braxton...
And you could always try shutting off the computer...

I had a similar problem occur with my iBook G4. This probably isn't the same thing, but if you bring your computer into the Apple store, pleeeeese make sure you back everything up on it first. They had to end up taking my whole computer apart to fix the disc drive, and accidentally wiped my hard drive. I love Apple, but that sucked.
