I never really start threads; I usually just find relevant threads and bump them, but I just made an excellent discovery and decided to start a thread.
Much in the spirit of Jo March shouting "Christopher Columbus!" without any explanation, I have decided my own completely irrelevant exclamation will be...CHRISTIANE KNOLL!!!
Don't be bitter because you didn't think of it first.

It is, but I kind of like the K.
And I don't think her vibratto is annoying.

Hahahaha, who do you think I had in mind when I made that comment...
I was going to just come out and say "...some of them are even starring in Mamma Mia!"
Don't worry about it, her vibratto is notorious.

Posted: 5/3/05 at 12:50pmAgreed-she was great in the "Urinetown" tour..what about Charlie Pollock, the tour Bobby Strong..anyone know anything about him?
#11re: CHRISTIANE NOLL!!!!!
Posted: 5/3/05 at 12:57pmShe is the only person who I was happy to see getting cast as Hope Cladwell (and let me tell you, that is saying a lot for me). I think she is funny and superbly talented.
#12re: CHRISTIANE NOLL!!!!!
Posted: 5/3/05 at 2:05pmshe was great in the Houston stop of the tour, and press coverage then suggested the handsome hunky Herculean-voiced Pollock is a Houston native.

"Broadway Love Story" is one of my favorite CDs ever...as is "Live from the West Bank Cafe" and "The Gershwin Album". Christiane is quite possibly one of my favorite singers on the planet, and I'm glad someone mentioned her :)
Is it true that she's supposed to be in Mambo Kings?
#14re: CHRISTIANE NOLL!!!!!
Posted: 5/3/05 at 3:48pmJAILYARD, i've been semi-following that show's casting, and don't recall her name. But i could have missed something...there is a good girl role in it (at least from the latest NYC workshop i got to see) but that role then was Hispanic and a bit younger than Christiane. She may, however, be belting the "older-but-wiser-girl" role played at the workshop i saw by the sensational Leah Hocking (currently in ALL SHOOK UP and thus not available).

She is indeed going into Mambo King.

I have seen this gal perform live several times and personally can't agree with the heavy vibrato call in any way. She is a product of a classically trained mom who taught her to sing, technique perfect, as a wee girl.
Christiane's voice is as clear as a bell. She scats, she belts, she whispers better than most sopranos I've heard. I once told her that you can "hear" her smile on her CD's. And she is a super athlete!

No offense taken. PB Entertainment does not represent Christiane. I just know her for a long time via J&H, concerts, shows, interviews. But if I wanted to book her, I would surely ring her up lickety-split. I personally think she is one entertaining lady onstage and a plesant person to work with.
Funny.. I just interviewed Peter Nero (Philly Pops) yesterday and we both were praising Christiane up and down.( He worked with her 2 years ago in Philly in a concert that I covered).
