Just saw such a thing at the on-campus movie theater today and ERGH was it awesome!

Nothing like getting your eyes massaged by fantastic cinematography in a beautiful movie theater for two hours. Bliss.

Citizen Kane belongs on the big screen. As brilliant as it is on TV, until you see it in a theatre, you haven't seen it.

I saw a "restored version" of the movie in a local movie house years ago and half the audience ended up complaining that they couldn't see anything, as the new print registered too dark on the big screen. Too bad...and I haven't seen it listed for a while here in the Bay Area.

And just got back from a newly restored version of Jean-Pierre Melville's ARMY OF SHADOWS. I love this theater!

I once saw both of those on a double bill on a screen the size of three football fields. Until you've seen them on a screen the size of three football fields you've never seen them. It's like having a prostate massage with by a frozen cucumber.
