CNN is currently showing the entirety of Rev Wright's comments to the NAACP tonight.
...why does everyone want to be in show business?! Wow, forget politics, that's better acting than anything I've seen on Bway last week.
Interesting speech.
I agreed with a lot of what he said.
He is quite an engaging orator.

The Rev. Wright is an incredible pastor, and a wonderful person.
I would agree with the first, I have no idea about the second.
Do you know him personally?
That all may be true, but if Rev Wright wants Obama to win this nomination or get elected if the nominee, he needs to take a vacation until November 5.
Because the part of his speech I saw on CNN did not come off so well. It may or may not be truths, but it won't win Obama voters.
I have to agree with several of your comments, people. Reverend Wright is an impressive orator and he came across quite well on his Friday interview with Bill Moyers as well. He has every right to defend himself, but his timing is terrible. He has the opportunity to see the first African American president in his lifetime, but by making himself visible again he's truly hurting Obama. In a word, he's being selfish and self-serving. And, hey, I'm a Clinton supporter, but I'm not enjoying the role the Reverend has played in the election.
He is a racist and vile hate-monger who should never be given any sort of platform again.
The NAACP should be ashamed of themselves for allowing him to speak at such an important dinner.
At first, I thought his appearances could do nothing but harm to Obama. But, it is clear that this 'issue' isn't going away anytime soon, and if the man feels he wants to clear his name, he has every right to do so. Having said all that, I don't know that his appearances on Bill Moyers or at the NAACP will do anything to change anyone's opinion. Personally, I never found any issue with a candidate's preacher. Having seen the full NAACP speech, I think I understand his point of view a little better than I did before, but there were certainly phrases in there that Obama's detractors could spin if they wished.

Tazber has NO idea what he's talking about.
I've had dinner with the Rev. Wright and have heard him speak on several occasions, and I've been surprised and uplifted by his words, especially when speaking to known homophobic parishes about gay rights and how it's not in god's plan to treat us like that. It take courage to speak the truth to people who don't agree with you, and he does that, it's what makes him a great pastor.
You make me laugh BK. Do you really think anyone believes a word you say?
I'll bet not only have you been to dinner with the racist pig, but you also play poker with him, right?
Or is that one of your other screen names?

Tazber, how far up your ass is PLM's hand? I think your mouth of moving, but I'm not sure.
Here's how Republicans are going to use Reverend Wright's comments to destroy local Democratic candidates all over the country.

THat's the thinnest veiled ad I've ever seen. No one will fall for it.
It's nice to see Obama is still made of teflon, because he's just the best man for the job, hands down.
PJ - if that ad works, it would mean that the candidate was so weak he or she never had a chance, or that the constituency was so narrow-minded and bigoted that there was never any hope. By the way, the opponent is also running an ad that the candidate didn't pay his taxes, so Rev Wright may be the least of his problems.
what happened to the last guy about whom teflon was used as an adjective on a regular basis? oh yeah, he died in prison because he found he weren't so teflon after all. nice choice.
but i would like to thank bammy for going on fox and declaring rev. kill whitey to be a legitimate political issue.
i'd especially like to thank the deluded people who think that it's a winning one for the presumptive sacrificial lamb on the left.
It is very amusing to watch people try to somehow justify some 20 odd years of hate mongering based on one speech at one dinner.
He is a liability to Obama and a hateful person. Regardless of what anyone here wishes or thinks, that's how America sees him and his connection to Obama.
And rightfully so.
Well, I think once McCain is the sole target, the Dems will be fine.
For him to bash Obama about not understanding the poor, while he uses his wife's private plane is a little bit amusing.
In the end, the Obama v. Clinton fighting may be giving the right a false sense of security.
I want this question asked: Do you really want a 72 year old man, who was tortured for over 5 years by the Viet Cog, with a short temper and bouts of anger to be your commander in chief?
I don't.
hell, i'd prefer the disembodied head of lbj over that lying white-hating commie islamist, bammy.

With your vocabulary, PLM, no one takes you seriously.
Actually it's you no one takes seriously BurgerKing.
hell, fenfen, no one's taken you seriously since mag wildwood at the very least. maybe your next incarnation might have a bit more influence. i mean it's not likely, but since you're delusional, i guess you can hope. audaciously.
We're all just SHEEP papa, didn't you get the memo?

No Dem or Dem supporter should dare ask that question of this group or any other this election cycle. Of the 3 candidates McCain is clearly the most qualified to carry the mantle of CIC. For many voters, this single issue is the achilles of both Clinton and Obama.
We are a nation at war. Citizen-soldiers (and their family members)are voters too!
you are welcome to think that but daddy's been doing a crap job. I think its time to let mama take charge for a while.
