Can Someone Explain this Insane Church Video!

Can someone explain this? Is this all a hoax? Was the communion drugged?Some kind of gas in the air? This is the mother of all WTF's!!! Oh, and please notice the children in the audience witnessing this(who will probably need some serious therapy after all this)

Creepy and disturbing! Is it just me or does his laugh sound like Burges Meredith as the Penguin?

I guess that "god put the rythm" in them. Or laughter.

You can never look at any revival church like regular churches, they are full of dramatics to PROVE that they believe. They do believe however.

I posted this on another forum and read an interesting response.

"It's all fake (of course) but it's not a hoax. It's not a matter of the preacher planting actors in the audience. Nothing like that. The truth is, most people raised in any culture will do what's expected of them to fit in - to a point. There's a need for acceptance in most humans that often requires us to turn off our brains to survive inside that culture. The christian fundies aren't the only ones.

Americans drive on the right because that's what we were taught to do. We follow that rule because it helps us survive in our culture. We also handshaking or fistbumps and all sorts of social manners.

In the fundy culture, you are taught that when "the spirit moves" on the preacher people pass out - our weak human bodies overcome by the spirit. And there is an acceptable amount of time one stays "passed out". The rules are very subtle and intricate - as are the rules in any culture. People co-operate willingly, just as they willingly pay their taxes and drive on the right generally near the posted speed limits. Most even convince themselves they were genuinely overcome by the spirit."

That's exactly right. When I was young, I was taken to a southern Pentecostal church. No one prepared me for what would happen. I was used to quiet Methodist church. When those Pentecostals let loose, it scared the hell out of me.

I went to a Pentecostal church with my friend while I was in High School. It scared the HELL out of me. One moment the preacher was doing his thing....the next thing I know he starts talking in some babble language and RAN around the inside of the church screaming. Everyone around me was screaming "AMEN" and "HALLELUJAH" and I was literally scared for a second. At the end of the service, people went up front and started passing out. One woman hit her head on the edge of the pew when she "fell out."

I never went back!

Funny that this should come up... I was talking to my friend yesterday about how he left his church and gave up Christianity because he said is church was too 'overbearing,' and I asked him what religion he'd been, and he said he was Pentecostal. I'd never even heard of Pentecostals until then...

The church in that video is not a hardcore Pentecostal church, because serious Pentecostal women aren't allowed to cut their hair-- ever-- even trim it, or wear any makeup, and the guys have to be clean-shaven and have short hair. The guy I was talking to said that a girl he knew got thrown out of the church or something like that for wearing cover-up on some zits. He loves theatre, but his parents didn't let him because of the makeup.

Schmerg, you just brought back two tons worth of memories that date back thrity years. Hair tizzed up to Jesus and not a slap of base or lipstick on the face.
