Addy - bejeweled is fun, but as with all things with me, I get obsessive and competitive.
In that case, I'd better stay away. I need no more obsessions!
DD, you must be reading my mind regarding the competitive part. During my morning bike ride yesterday I was struck by how many racing cyclists were passing me as I was leisurely riding around Hains Point. I made a comment like, "does anyone do anything for fun as opposed to being competitive all the time?" (i.e., let's see how fast I can ride, etc.).
I'm guilty, especially now that I have an odometer. I try to keep my speed at a certain average - long rides 14 mph and quick rides 17 mph - and I also get into "races" with others on the trail. They have no idea I'm racing them, though.
DD, I think they do!!! LOL Though I will admit I hate when someone passes me when I feel I am pedaling fast. Then I try to pass them!
I was thinking yesterday you need to come out here with your bike. It would be fun to take you on all the great bike rides around here.
I would love to go on the trails out in Seattle, but I'd probably be better off renting one as opposed to dragging mine all the way out there. I do love my bike though! I also love Hains point. It actually feels like being on vacation every time I ride out there (which happens to be mostly every morning).
I used to do that ride, one of my favorites.
It's so peaceful (except when you're being passed by racing bike clubs!).
About how long is that ride?
16 miles round trip (from my place).
Longer than I thought ... cool!
My Dad, who bikes almost every day, isn't biking today. He fell off the other day (again!!!!), and is cranky because his butt hurts. I feel like I'm living with a 3 year old.
Shira, it was raining a while ago downtown - tell him to stay inside!
He's in for the day, we're in our separate boudoirs, all will survive.
"I feel like I'm living with a 3 year old."
Shut up, Deet, shut up.
For once, I'm not the three year old?
I didn't say that.
I actually haven't said anything for over three hours, which I think shows remarkable restraint.

I am hanging on to that thought as I head into yet another day of meetings. I miss you all.
