I have Ted's funeral on, and I sometimes wonder when I watch these official funeral's if there's any griping going on. Like when I was a kid and had to listen to some of the older folks in my family when someone passed away.

"Well. Why does she get to sit with the family? And who put that one there?"

And when you see a couple dignitaries huddling together and smiling or laughing at something. Who just said what about who?!

I can't even imagine having to corral the Kennedy clan, let alone everyone else.

I think it was at Nixon's funeral (can't remember exactly) when I saw a picture of Clinton and Daddy Bush sitting next to each other and just chuckling away at something that had passed between them. Whatever smidgen of hope I had that any of them could be trusted evaporated in that moment.

My condolences to you in advance JG2 - I can imagine it will just boggle her mind how screwed up our health care system is.

I have been watching the Kennedy funeral, and fighting with my cousin's husband who is reviling Ted and calling him a murderer. Dude is in Iraq, and does not even realize that Kennedy was responsible for him getting fully armored vehicles and body armor.

Yep.

He is not a bad guy, as long as we do not discuss politics. I tried to correct him/respond as kindly as I could. I also know that he is currently stationed in Iraq, and perhaps that could be impacting the way he reacts to things.

But, I get emails from him sometimes with horrible, offensive stuff, and I just turns my stomach.

Probably so. He seemed a bit more unhinged than usually in his posts. But, then again, I have no idea what he is going through while stationed in Iraq, so I thought it was better to give him a little slack.

This is what we were looking at yesterday from most of the LA basin, and apparently it got pretty out of control into and through the night. We're between this one and one to the east, so our sky this morning is pretty bleak. Here's hoping they can get a handle on things with some lower temps today.
