Drinks? Yes, please. Thank you.
Woo-hoo! Got tix to the suite at Safeco Field. Garlic fries, hot dogs, and beer! (today is the feast of Saint Boniface, patron saint of brewers) I don't think they have donuts, though.

Would they let you brung some in? There must be a Dunkin somewhere near the stadium. Also, aren't donuts German in origin?
Actually, the first Dunkin' Donuts is a few blocks away, but I think they frown on bringing your own food. How else would they get you to shell out $8 for a hot dog?

Nevermind - they're most likely Dutch:
Possible origins
"Doughnuts have a disputed history. One theory suggests that doughnuts were introduced into North America by Dutch settlers, who were responsible for popularizing other American desserts, including cookies, apple pie, cream pie, and cobbler. This theory is bolstered by the fact that in the mid-19th century doughnuts were called olykoeks ("oily cakes") by the Dutch. However, there is also archaeological evidence that the pastries were prepared by prehistoric Native Americans in the southwestern United States.
Hansen Gregory, an American, claimed to have invented the ring-shaped doughnut in 1847 aboard a lime-trading ship when he was only sixteen years old. Gregory was dissatisfied with the greasiness of doughnuts twisted into various shapes and with the raw center of regular doughnuts. He claimed to have punched a hole in the center of dough with the ship's tin pepper box and later taught the technique to his mother.
According to anthropologist Paul R. Mullins, the first cookbook mentioning doughnuts was an 1803 English volume which included doughnuts in an appendix of American recipes. By the mid-19th century the doughnut looked and tasted like today?s doughnut and was viewed as a thoroughly American food."
Interesting.
And by first I meant first in Seattle which was only a few years ago.
Oh ... and I think food is free in the Suite anyway ...

Free food - who could ask for anything more? Well, maybe a win.
I think I'm going to hurt someone today.
that would be asking a lot of our Mariners, moony. But you never know.
Hey, all.
Whew, no more murderous me! I outwitted customer service BS using intelligence and logic, instead of frustrated outbursts! I'm sure they would have overridden their return policy ANYWAY, but I still feel good!
Atta girl, Shira!
Hep!!! How are you girl? I was wondering the other day about you - it seems the last time I saw you here was around the time of the forest fires.
Don't worry, DD. It wasn't fire, merely lack of a computer that kept me away. Two weeks, or so, of adults withdrawal.
No computer? No comprende.

Hiya, Hep! My beloved Roger just might do it this time - I just hope I live through the final to enjoy it if he wins
Afternoon Adults.
DD, sounds like fun. I almost bought Laker tickets for Sunday (someone mispriced them on the website, and a zero was missing) but decided that it was a clear mistake and I would not try to screw the owner out of the $4,500 difference...
Shira, Zander has figured out how to open up my coffee table drawers now. That cat is going to be the death of me.
OMG, YWIW. At least he's entertaining.
There were a couple of pouches of cat treats literally gutted this morning next to the open drawers.
Zorra just kind of watches with bemusement.
Are you feeling better these days? I would invite you over to watch the Tony's, but I don't have an East Coast feed anymore, and, there is a Lakers game on.
I'm heading out to a gospel choir concert with my Dad instead of the Tonys (gasp).
POUCHES of cat treats? Oh, he's gonna be sick.
I am watching the live feed of the Tonys on Sunday. Shira.. you still in LA?
Evening all - I know there are not many around on a Friday night but I thought I would pop in and say hello. I see we have a new thread.
Hi Hep! I was thinking about you recently and wondering where you had disappeared to. Don't go away for long, please. We miss you when you're gone!
Hi Kansas. Hope you've had a wonderful Friday.
Late evening greetings to all.
I might skip the concert on Sunday now.
Developed ANOTHER infection, despite having spent 75% of my time in bed.
Fortunately, I caught it really early and all done!
