Okay, lovlies. Since I know this is the master thread of taste, style and class, I need some advice and/or guidance. Let's say my friend is going to get engaged in August. (If she doesn't melt first.) Where would be a nice, but not ridiculously cliche or dorky place in or around the city to do that? She would really like to be original without breaking the bank, ya know? Okay... go!

Although, I have had really good luck finding restaurants using NY Magazines website. And you can search for features like "romantic" or "special occasion".

Well, my friend and her partner are both vegetarians, (typical) so some restaurants are out. And above where I may have said me, my or we... just replace them all with a neutral them.
