Isn't that great? How did we ever 'find' old friends before the search engine? Of course, the flip side is that you need to be very careful about all the info you leave out there for OTHERS to find.
I thought of that as I found said friend. I knew what we called him then, and eventually found what company he worked for, and as I dug more I finally found his email address. Scary, huh?

A newbie on this site once mocked others who told him that he was putting too much personal info out there for strangers. I PMed him and told him that in 10 minutes I found his real name, place of business, home address, high school and college he attended and the names of his parents. All with six clicks of the mouse. He was amazed and horrified and asked me how I did it. I gave him the "route" I took on the information highway. He thanked me profusly and has been very discreet since then. Not to mention a lot more humble.
There's nothing like a good'ole slice of humble pie every now and then.
