Most of her women are lawyers either from the Main Line or from South Philly who solve a murder they get dropped into.
I'll be interested in what you think of the new Grisham. I hear that it's slightly different than books of his past. I had started to tire of his work, even though I loved his early stuff. It would be great to have another good read by him!
Maybe I'll dust off a 'classic' and re-read something I haven't read in years.
Somms, I love crime mysteries. Thanks for letting me know.
I heard Al Roker has a new book... maybe that could be a fun holiday read.
Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!

Deet, I'm saving the drinking for tomorrow. For after the funeral. My cousins and I decided this afternoon.
I must say this is the first time I've gone to a wake where it looked like the wrong person in the coffin. Thank God your back is to the family when you go up. Can't even imagine the look that might've been on my face.
Hm. Maybe I'll have a little nip of something. Just a little.

Love it, YWIW!
Hope your day got a little easier after all of the calls!
Girly, that must have been disconcerting!
Have a little nip... why not?!
I'm all for nipping.

Shira - that's where he will receive the attention he needs, and allow you to be about the business of your own life. This isn't the end of the matter by a long shot, but it IS a step in the direction of you having some much needed time and space to tend to yourself.
And we're here to help you along that path. Joyfully, hopefully, and with a whip.
Oh, he's thrilled because it's so close to me. You see, he wanted to make sure it would be convenient for me. I wanted to retort, "I hear they have nice places in Palm Springs. Go there".
YWIW - 2.5. Plus, my irresponsibility is rearing its ugly head (with fantastic hair). Argh.
Q - My own life? Surely you jest. And you just want an excuse to whip.
Your father is not your responsibility. Blood does not equate with chains.
Is that what they call these things?
Yes. Sometimes, mental/emotional chains are much stronger than steel.

"mental/emotional chains are much stronger than steel."
But not nearly as much fun.
And I never need an excuse, Shira. An alibi on occasion, but never an excuse

Thanks guys. I'm trying to pull it together over here with applications. My friend is explaining to me that I need to breathe and professors are used to last minute requests...such as "HELP"

"I need to breathe"
Where have I heard that before . . .
Oh, yeah, now I remember.
Q is in a mood tonight.
Off to an early night's sleep. I have wee early conference calls tomorrow morning.
