Hey ho from this neck of the woods. It is well and truly winter now. It came bustin' in one Friday with an almighty thunderstorm and has proved to be a drenching June since. This is Saturday morning, overcast, a fuzzy sock kind of morning. It is perfect for hot chocolate and marshmallows. So, if anyone would like a reminder of cool and clammy weather please see the management and we'll send you some of our weather stuff.
With all this wet weather, it is perfect for culture vultures. In the last two weeks I have had a relative surfeit of ballet, theatre and art. Quite content. Next week a different type of culture - Aussie Rules Footy and a Friday night with the Hawks. Um, thats Hawthorn, not Chicago. I can cheer myself hoarse. So, next Saturday I may a little quieter.

G'morning.
Good moring, all! Back to the grind and already not in a good mood.
Good morning! (although a little late in the morning, at this point).
Hep, bundle up and stay warm. And enjoy all the culture.
Plum, it's always a treat to have you stop by! Hope you had a happy weekend, and... enjoy your visit to NYC!! How are you planning to fill your time?
Thinking of Moony and hope she's having a fab time.
Wishing everyone a great week.
Happy Monday Adults. Employee Appreciation Week - which means jeans and sneakers all week. Small blessings.
I am watching SCOTUS blog to see if there are any rulings coming out today. I am hoping for at least some good news.
Quiet weekend. Errands and visited my dad yesterday. Then dealt with my mom. Sigh...

Y, I assume a narrowed striking of the CA law with no general declaration of equality.
I am assuming DOMA is overturned, and Prop 8 is applied to CA only (like you said). So a partial victory - with marriage still a state-by-state assessment. But, hoping against hope.
The Voting Rights Act is also going to be interesting.

Agreed. And, thanks for the SCOTUSblog - yet another distraction!!!!
I found it last year on the ACA ruling. So many important decisions for this SC. It really depends on what legacy Roberts wants to have. I am hoping against hope he is a closet moderate. And does not want to be seen as an extension of corporate america. He has small kids, and he has to consider the consequences of the decisions on his kids. Again, hoping against hope.

Y, I thought that his kids had a direct effect on his Obamacare vote!

Hi Addy! My tentative plan is to watch the Much Ado movie, do Shakespeare in the Park if possible, and meet up with as many of my NYC friends as possible. (Which is like 90% of my friends. Ugh, why did I move.)
G'morning.
My friend Dodo from Chicago, the one with the brain tumor, is in New York today, and throwing herself a HUGE "farewell" party tonight. The liquor, laughs and tears will be flowing.
Only Dodo would do this.
Well, Dodo and Auntie Mame. If Auntie Mame were Stritch.
HI, MY PEOPLES!!!!
Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch.
Puppies are babies in fur coats.

...Got home from work at 3:45am. I am heading back to the office now. What the hell am I doing with my life?... #dizzyfromlackofsleep
Plum, that sounds like a great weekend! Have fun seeing everyone, and maybe on one of your trips back you and I can meet for a drink/coffee/hello? I'd love that!
Deet, that sounds like the makings of an emotionally-packed gathering. Enjoy the liquor, laughs and tears. Sounds like a grand way to say 'farewell'...
Happy Tuesday, Somms and Girly, and all who will arrive in this fair land later in the day!

More so than usual.
