Good morning, kids. Back to the grind. Only 20 emails! How did that happen?
PODDIE!!!! Miss you
Did anyone else get tickets for the "Lady Day" musical yet? I got tickets yesterday. We're going to take HC's mom. I have a huch she liked Billie Holiday back in the day. It will be nice to see Dee Dee Bridgewater back on stage. I haven't seen her since "The Wiz" on B'way.
Miss Ross sang several numbers from Lady Sings the Blues and the Wiz at her concert on Sunday. Heaven!
I actually loved Ms. Ross as Billie. I have to revisit the movie now. Of course she RUINED "The Wiz"!
I don't think too many people have seen Dee Dee Bridgewater since THE WIZ on Broadway, Boobs.
^see how I did that? ^

Hola, peeps!
Nice to have y'all back where you belong!
I'm running day's transfer students orientation and we are having air conditioning and IT problems already. What fun!!!
I got some good news on Monday, re: one of my classes. The registrar's office has (finally) installed a program that automatically stops a student from registering for a class if they don't have the pre-reqs, (i.e: they failed a class) so we don't have to do paperwork scramble at the beginning of the semester anymore.
What's even better: because of this, classes HAVE to run even if they're below the college minimum enrollment (15). So my Friday afternoon "Death Spot" class has only 13 students! Yay for me! I'm hoping for a luxurious semester!
*hugs* Moony
Deet, awesome for you!
Happy Monday Adults. More shenanigans at work - nothing directly impacting me per se (as in I saw this change coming) but some folks are going to have a hissy fit.
I will need some popcorn.
Humpday hugs to everyone!
I was just reading up on the Almond tree being I planted one this past Spring. Found this interesting....
In Greek mythology the almond tree is represented by the beautiful princess Phyllis. Left at the altar on her wedding day, Phyllis waited for years before finally perishing of a broken heart. In sympathy, the gods transformed her into an almond tree, as a symbol of hope. When Phyllis' fiancee returned to find her as a leafless, flowerless tree, he embraced it and the tree burst into bloom.
I think I shall make an Almond Cake for the next framily gathering.
Mmmmm Mmmmmm good! Let's make it an Almond theme gathering. See what the Framily can come up with using Almonds.
YWIW knows how to play well with others
Well, if anybody else wants Almond cake, they'd better bring their own; and a stun gun.

OK, two off to college! Both drop offs were easy and both students were happy with their room and roomies. Time to work to pay for this mess! Mrs. Brd has been hysterical, but has calmed down. C15 - working hard at school already. (Mooney - iPads not working!)
Happy Hump Day!
Hey brd! Congrats! I'm sure before long Mrs.Brd will start to enjoy the quietness around the house.
I'll make 4, SoMMS. One for everyone, and three for Moony.
That's still four for Moony. Or three for Moony, one for Max.
I'll make one for the rest of us. Ssshhhhhh don't tell Moony!
next to the Windex bottle
Good morning everyone!

Nice to see you too! *hugs* By the way, your sons have grown into amazingly handsome young men! I loved that picture you posted on FB the other day.
