Awww thanks. Your sons are too cute. I know they will grow up to be handsome men too. Especially since I look like their grandfather LOL
Bitter almond cake?
Hi all!
Hey DD! It's nice to see everyone stopping by today.
LOL, they totally do BB.
Brian starts kindergarten in a couple weeks. Its killing me.
OMG they grow so fast. Enjoy them while you can.
Kel! Hi!
August. Pretty slow in the office, though I don't think it's going to last long. Enjoying it while I can.
Hey DD! How are you hon? Things are slowly ramping up for me with the school year fast approaching. I spent the last two days at a Google Apps for Education conference and had my mind blown. It was amazing.
Somms, sadly it is.
Kel ... saw you sporting the nifty Google Glass. How was it?
G'morning.
Morning peeps! Today is one of those days where I really don't want to be at work.
The thunder gods are not happy here. BOOM!
It was drizzling when I left my house, but luckily still dry in the City. The sky is now dark, so it's coming!

"I've got sunshine...you've got the pouring rain. And when it's cold outsiiiiide, I'm glad I don't live in Maine. (do do do do do do do)"
First day of school. Been up since 3:30am. Getting a bit punchy and will need a nap this afternoon, but there's a Happy Hour at a local rum bar @ 4:00pm so I must set my alarm!
Oh, and in regards to the almond cake: hardy-har-har guys. Who the hell is "Phyllis"? Phyllis Rogers Stone? He doesn't post here.
Phyllis is my mother and my dearly departed grandmother and my also dearly departed aunt and my mother's first cousin. I'm stinking with Phyllisi.
If it'll blow away the humidity, I say bring it on.
ETA: The approaching thunderstorm, that is.
I have no idea what Moony and SoMMS are referring to.
I agree, Deet! Poo-poo humidity!
DD, Glass were amazing. I only got to play with them for a minute or so, but I really want them and I can see so many applications for authentic and engaging use in the classroom.
I spent too much time at that Google conference, there is so much I want to do to help my students grow using technology. I'm trying to convince my school to help me get more tech in my classroom, but there's no money for it right now. (Thus my Donors Choose post..shameless shilling, but I am getting a class that could really use the extra support that some of these iPad only apps can provide on top of regular and remedial support)
I always worried that Glass would interfere with normal sight and be distracting, but that's not the case at all. I just wish I could have worn my glasses with them. Fingers crossed for prescription compatible ones with the main stream release.

Kel - my son is bemoaning using his iPad at school. "Books are easier." I assume he will adjust. (I think he has impetigo in a few bug bites - off to the dermatologist today!)

Brd - what the hell kind of bugs do you guys have in Chicago? I got bitten a lot at my sister's place and the welts were enormous and hard. Three weeks later and I still have deep red marks were the bites were. You have a danerous environment up there!
